So we finally got a Wii and I am interested in getting Wii Fit. I was wndering if any of you have one and if so, what do you like and not like about it? Is it legitimate exercise or just a game? Is it worth the cost and are the myriad extras you can purchase necessary? Thanks!

It is so fun! It was a great investment for both me and my son, as we'd both rather play video games than exercise.

Wii Fit is WORTH IT! Within a week you will feel the difference. The games that are offered as part of Wii Fit will keep you motivated and aren't like any mundane exercise activity. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed. The only way it won't work is if you don't use it. My husband and I have lost quite a bit of weight using it and it's a lot of fun!

We just got our Wii Fit in February. It is real exercise. My husband and I both use it for exercise and we can easily break a sweat doing it. It is also tons of fun. My 3 year old can do many of the things herself and my 16 month old loves to just stand on the board and point the remote at the TV since that is what we do. It does help with weight loss and it tracks your weight and BMI. I have lost 10 pounds so far and my husband has lost 15 with it. Get one. They are worth it.

We've had our Wii since Christmas and it was only played with occasionally. I found Wii Fit the other day and got it. The kids have spent hours on it since then. My son who is 9 goes to a tutoring program that uses alternative methods to help kids. He's got sensory processing disorder, and issues with balance, eye hand coordination, etc. They use it there for his gross motor class. He's already improved his scores, but can see where his balance issues are. My daughter (12) is a competitive gymnast and works at her gym 19 hours a week. She's enjoying it as well. I'd definitely get it...you'll all find something fun with it.

Get the my personal fitness coach. It's MUCH cheaper, no extras and a better workout. But this is just one womens opinion.

I have a wii fit...and I'll tell you that I believe it is a great workout and strength builder. Helps with balance, yoga, strength, and fun games on it for you to do...and it is very enjoyable for the kids as well. I have 3 girls that enjoy it a lot. My fiance gets on it once in a great while.
And it will tell you when enough is enough, how much you weigh, where your strengths are and where you need work at...well not that it will tell you that your flabby or what not...it just says it senses that you need to work on your right side more or which not. Its really good. I prefer this..and my girls do to, they are massive game freaks, and this is one of the best by far!

I love my Wii fit. It is REAL excercise. Now if I could only get the Wii (and the Wii Fit) away from the kids.....

We love our Wii Fit. I got it for Christmas and it is great so far. Everyone uses it in the house, including my 5 and 3 year old kids. We just use the board and the Wii Fit "game" it came with and it has kept us plenty entertained. WE have a Snowboarding game, but don't use it as often. Good Luck with the decision. We haven't regretted having it one bit, unlike other games we have for the Wii and don't play!

E.,
I have had my Wii Fit for over a year now. They are real exercises not a game. I found some of the exercises a little hard but as you keep using it you get better. It also helps you keep track of your wieht goals, and BMI. I highly recommend the Wii Fit. You only have to have the Wii board and a controller. Good luck and Have fun.

I have a wii fit and my 5 yr old son loves to use it. When I use it, I break out in a sweat and feel pretty good after my workout. I don't have any of the extras that go with it, just the board and the game.

We have one and absolutley love it. I have lost 20 lbs using it. Our daughter is getting to the be interested in it and she is only 2 1/2. There are games on it, but the yoga and walking applications are awesome. We saw My Fitness Coach last night and that will be my next purchase. I think it is totally worth it!

Hey E.!

The Wii Fit is awesome! I have one and it is real fun. it has tons of activities. it is real neat. yoga, strength trianing, step arobics, running, etc.

My mom and Dad play it so much they actually have their friends over to play and have "tournaments" with it (they are in their 50's)!! It is so funny.

My mom has lost 16 lbs since she got it in January. and my dad has lost 10. so it works!!

One thing to tell you.... Go to Game Stop to buy it, it is $89 a lot cheaper than Wal-Mart and if anything goes wrong with it, it has a warranty. :-)

I hope you let us know how you like it!!

L. Kay

P.S. There is another Wii Fit Board coming in May - (My mom has it on Hold at the Game Stop for when it comes in. it's the same price.) - It has wieghts and stretch bands attached for more excercise.

It is definitely worth it, and definitely a legitimate form of exercise! I love my Wii fit; however, I am on current hiatus from it, due to some injuries. Little did I know, before I even started the fit, I had degenerative issues in my spine and shoulder. Once I started the fit, all the motions exacerbated the issues. Now I'm only allowed to walk and do light stretches while going through PT. So - when you get the Fit, take it easy at first :-) Enjoy!

We have a Wii Fit and I love it. It does have good excercizes as well as some fun balance games. I was actually soar from using it for the first few times. I will tell you this, we purchased it at Christmastime. With the weather cold we were on it every day. Now that the weather is getting nice out, I'm finding myself not on it as much. With any excercize routine it takes commitment. I plan on buying more games for it. If you are the type of person who buys excercize equipment or videos and after a time they collect dust, then maybe the WII Fit isn't for you. However, I do think it is worth the money. T.

My family loves it. I love it the most. I began to use it about a month ago. I enjoy doing it everyday for about 45min. I feel that it helped me with my back problem. I can move better and am more flexible. With the game I try to beat my kids score and thats what we all love about it. I went to physical therapy and I feel the wii fit was better than physical therapy for me. So I feel the investment for great for me.

If you're expecting to get a perfect body from it, lower the expectations. It's not our family's main form of exercise. However, it is a ton of fun and your 6-year old will love it. My 5-year old girl can operate most of it, andour 2year old can jump around and not hurt it. Only trouble we have is that you have to play it often enough and be good enough at some games to 'unlock' other games. But overall it's pretty cool and has a lot of variety. have fun!

My family has this, 17 15, 12 year old children and they all like it, my husband LOVES it! He has us have bowling tournaments quite frequently. When my mother-in-law (77) was here she was playing too, in fact when she went home she bought herself a wii & wii fit and invites over her friends in her senior building to play! We don't play quite as often in the summer just because we are outside more but in the winter we are on all the time.

E...We have wii fit and my husband and my 7 year old love it. I on the other hand feel like it is a waste of time. I would rather just get on the tread mill or dance around with my baby in the living room. I feel like I am just playing video games when i do the Wii fit and not actually getting a workout. Alot of people love it but I just can't get into it.Hope it helps~K.

Hi E.
My experience is YES it is. As you well know anything you do requires committment, but the wii fit is right there and you can challenge yourself. I had surgery 4 months ago and my wii fit got me back on my feet. You can go at your own pace and/or you can "go for it" Good luck and would lov eto here from you and how you're doing.

My son-in-saw got one for my daughter for Christmas. She has used it every day before work faithfully, and leaves it on for my husband or I to do when we are bebysitting. I think it's worth it. It has arobics, yoga, strength exercises, balance, co-ordination. And it's fun!

My husband got me one for Valentines day (not because he thought I needed it but I have been wanting one for a long time) I love it. It does make you sore if you are committed to it. It measures your weight, gives you tips on how to have better posture and the games are a lot of fun. I personally love the step arobics on it. It also gives you the option of setting a weight loss goal and how long you think it will take you to meet that goal and it will keep record of your progress. I hope you like it if you get one I know I love it. My husband and kids also love it.

Well, I do not have a Wii Fit, but I have heard something. I have heard that as long as you are dedicated to it, then yes it is a good investment. If you plan to use it for a few months and then not do it again for awhile, then no. They said that you have to keep with it every week because otherwise the weight will stay.

YES, however, i have not lost as much weight as i would like but that is not the WII's fault it is my own lack of motivation and love of potato chips. If you know you will make yourself do it, it's worth it. And, it is fun.

E., Yes, I feel the Wii fit is worth it. We got ours about three weeks ago and we are having a blast getting "fit". It has yoga, aerobics, strength training and balance activities. They are challenging and fun. I am NOT an excersizer at all I look forward to using the fit. You don't have to buy extra accessories for it. You may have to look a little while though...they are hard to find. I finally go mine at Target. Good luck and have fun!!
