Who Do You LOVE at Town & Country Pediatrics?

I know many families rave about T&C. I'll be picking that practice for my newborn. I know it is very common to see many dr's, but I'd like to try to designate one for my baby. Is there one dr imparticular that you really like? I'll be going to the Clybourn office.

What can I do next?

I love Dr. Ellen Papacek. I also like Dr. Irene Freeman. Dr. Papacek is my favorite because she is very gentle and will spend time talking about different strategies for the basics--eating, sleeping, etc.

Good luck!

We have been going to Town and Country since day 1 and our daughter is now 14 months old. We love Dr. Wyman. I don't know how often she's at the Clybourn office, but I know she's often at the Lincoln office. She's worth the longer trip. She's very thorough and has a great sense of humor. Not only does she ask about Emily, she always asks how I am doing and she really seems to want to know. She was a nurse before becoming a doctor, so her bedside manner is wonderful (my mom is a nurse, so I'm very biased).

If you have anymore questions, feel free to contact me.

We love Dr. Blade, but have since switched practices to one that is closer to where I live. I *loved* the docs, but honestly, I felt like I was always waiting when I went there. Sometimes we sat for up to 45 minutes in the exam room either waiting for the doctor or waiting for a nurse to come in with shots, etc. I know it's the city and every practice is busy, but that was just too frustrating for us.

Our primary doc is Irene Freeman. She's great. We see Dr. Papacek too. She's also wonderful.

I'm in the small minority that like Dr. Kazdin. We saw her while we were in the hospital at the time of delivery. She tells you like it is and she's to the point. There were times I needed that!

We've lived in the suburbs for over a year now, and I still take my daughter to T&C! I was going to find someone a little closer, but I did not want to give them up!

Hi J.,
We have been very pleased with Dr. Anne Wyman. She sees patients at all three locations. I have an almost five-year old and a 16 month-old and we have been with Dr. Wyman from the time my oldest was born. We have now left Chicago and are out in the burbs, but we decided to continue to go to her. We have seen various Dr.s at T&C and they are all very good, but we just like her style the best. The Dr.s bios are listed on their website so you can read more about her. No matter who you choose, their practice is great. You can call 24 hours and always have access to a good Dr. Good luck!

We love Dr. Rice, but like the other poster, not everyone gets him....but he's fantastic. He sets the tone for the practice, which is very supportive of breastfeeding, trusting your instincts as a parent and listening. You'll have a chance to see at least a couple of the docs while you're in the hospital, so take note of their names. Our 3 faves are Rice, Kazdin and Papacek. While you'll probably pick one doc to see regularly for scheduled apppointments, take advantage of "sick" appointments to check out other docs and see if there's a better fit. Plus, it's good to build relationships with at least a couple of docs there just in case you need to see someone when your primary isn't available.

Congrats and good luck!

We almost always see Dr. Jenny Hong. She is absolutely fantastic - she has a little one as well, so she is particularly understanding about what you are going through as a new mom. Additionally, Dr. Holmes is also fantastic - she has 3 kids and has been through just about everything with them. We just saw Dr. Hartman for the first time last week, and she was able to do the impossible - she secured an appointment with a Children's Memorial pediatric dermatologist. The wait time for those doctors is generally 4 months, but she was able to get us an appointment in a few weeks. We have seen several of the doctors at T&C, and haven't gone wrong with any of them. Good luck!

Everyone there is great, just depends on your personality and how it meshes with the doctor. We love Dr. Hartman and Dr. Rice. Dr. Rice has a very dry sense of humor which some people don't get. One of my friends did not click with him at all but loved her doctor, Dr. Kasdin who I did not like at all so it is all a matter of taste. We're moving to the suburbs in about a month and one of the biggest disappointments is losing the doctors at Town and Country. I can't say enough positive things about them - it's wonderufl group!! Hope that helps and congratulations and good luck.

We love Dr. Holmes. She is so compassionate and sweet. I also like Dr. Wyman. You will see several docs at Prentice when they come to do daily baby-checks so you will get to meet a few then. It's a great practice.

We love Dr. Wyman. She's primarily at the Lincoln/Devon office but does one day a week at Clybourn. I also like Dr. Goldberg and Dr. Holmes.

I love dr. Holmes! We go to Clybourn office and she is on Tuesdays ( guess on other days she is in other offices?).
If you deliver at Prentice your newborn will be checked by T&C doctors. I was lucky and dr. Holmes was one of the dr. to see my newborns at Prentice.

DR Jenny Hong is amazing! Sweet, smart, reassuring and the mom of a 2 year old so she has first hand knowledge. I also like Dr Holmes. Most of the medical staff is wonderful. I am not a huge fan of Dr Kazdin, however, she is a very smart Doctor. I just like the more gentle manner of Hong or Holmes.

We love Dr. Papacez. She was recommended by my husbands best friend who has been seeing her for a year with their 15 month old. We have had numereous appointments with her since our little guy goes monthly since he was a preemie. She is at Clybourn M, W, and F I believe. Off Tuesdays and at Lincoln on Thursday. You may know this T&C won't let you do the previsitation with the doctor, which totally put us off. We were going to shop around for another ped office that would in our last month of pregnancy, but lucky for us our little one came almost 7 weeks early. So we went with our friends recommendation and have been so happy since. The director of the NICU at Swedish did her residency under Dr. Papacez at Children's Memorial when Dr. P was the director of that NICU there. She also could not say enough good things about her. We always try to see her when we go, but that is because our little guys case is a bit more complicated than most right now.

Good luck!
