OK, I need honest opinion. We are wanting to buy twin beds for our boys room. We liked one at Pottery Barn Kids but it is white in color (Cameron storage bed). Is white furniture mostly for a girls room or would it be ok to have it in a boys room? There is an option to get the beds in "Honey" color but I have not seen a floor model so I am hesitating to order it without actually seeing it.
We bought a white bedroom set for my son and I wondered the same, but it's worked out fine. No one has ever made a comment or asked why. Once he out grows the crib we're getting the bed that looks like a boat at pottery barn to go with the rest of it!
The white could look great with bold color accents, however could it be easily stained or scuffed as they grow up? You said twin beds and they are young, so it sounds like the set will be with them for a while. My personal choice would be to shy away from white.
Since when did white become a girly color? No...white is more than fine for a boys room. Our son has a white crib...as far as a bed for older children (regardless of sex) I agree with the other comment that it will mark/scratch (or show anyway) much easier than say a dark wood color might. But as far as white being a girl's color? No.
I think white is just fine for a boys' room.
I have a white bed in my boys room- i just added a lot of wood furnitue, a bright city map type rug with primary colors, and found sports comforters and wall appliques.
FWIW I saw the greatest idea for valances- old blue jenasd cut flat and then to a uniform size across the bottom- washed a couple of times for a frayed look- the belt loops are what went through the curtain rod. The model had a wooden dowel rod-
