I want to get my daughter a wagon for her 1st birthday. I'm looking at the Radio Flyer wagons. There are so many, and they seem to be almost identical in the features offered. I'm looking at the Pathfinder, the Ultimate Family Wagon, the Discovery Wagon, or the Voyager Canopy Wagon. I also have a petite 6 year old daughter that will be riding along with her. Any advice or recommendations???? Thanks so much!!!!

What can I do next?

Did you see the excursion? I saw someone with it yesterday at the zoo, and the container on the back for storage seemed like the best idea ever!! I would like a combination of all of the features, as a canopy like the Voyager would be nice! But for sure the tall seat backs are great, cup holders for the kids and seatbelts if you are worried about her standing up (which you will be for sure). The only negative is that they are pretty hard and cumbersome to travel with, so really we stick to our double jogging stroller for trips to the zoo etc. But my almost 2 year old has a hand me down one, and he loves to play with it at home, take stuffed animals for walks, or have us or his sisters take him for walks around the cul-de-sac. Have fun!! ~A.~

We have the Deluxe Family Wagon, which looks just like the "Ultimate" - I'm not sure what the difference is. At any rate, I would definitely go with one of the two for the seat backs, seat belts, and canopy. My 11 year-old sits in it with my 1 year-old and they both love it. We got the fold-up, pull behind carrier for gear but haven't used it yet. It IS bulky - If you plan to drive it places, you'll need your third row out/down. I'm not sure it would fit in a regular car trunk. The good thing is, the canopy can be removed and replaced quickly and easily. One last thought...shop around for the best price. At the time I bought (last fall) WalMart was a good $25 cheaper than everywhere else.

i'd stick with the original metal version with no added seats or such. it just seems sturdier to me, plus longer lasting. i know a mom who has had hers for 10 plus years!

It is so hard to choose with so many great choices, isn't it! They are all pretty similar from what I see on the R.F. Website. I think the Ultimate Family Wagon is a new model since we bought ours. We have the R.F. Voyager Canopy Wagon and love it!

In addition to what they show on the website, I would also mention that one of the seats folds down and makes a desk/table complete with a cup circle to hold the drink. My son is now 4 and he still likes to ride in it and have picnics in it. I love the fact that it is easy to manever. Because it is made of durable plastic and has drain holes in the bottom, you can easily wash the wagon, too. (It also makes a pretty good baggage trolly...we used it on vacation at the hotel.)

I would definitely recommend getting one with a canopy. The canopy is removable and stores neatly in a storage bag (included), plus it's instant shade for the kids when needed. Clip on a little hand-held foam fan on the frame and you have a safe, cool breeze blowing :)

Good luck with your decision!

We got our son the Pathfinder for his first birthday. He absolutely loves it (he will be 3 in June). I like it because when they are that young (one year) you can buckle them in. I also like that you can buckle a friend in, too. It has been a great wagon - I have no regrets. He also enjoys having a place for his cup. I love the backrests as well. And, he can put one down and rest his feet if he wants. It's just been a great wagon.
