Which Sippy Cup?

Hi, my son has been using the sippy cups with the rubbery straws. It's very hard to find replacement straws for these and I always wind up buying a whole new cup instead.

My question though is what do you find works better or is better for your child... a sippy cup with a straw or a sippy cup with a spout??

What can I do next?

overall, a straw cup is better for your child's teeth. sippy cups are easier to drink from (at least for my kid - and we used the cheapie ones from first years or the gerber ones) but dentists and peds recommend straw cups. ask playtex if they sell replacement straws.

I would stick to the straw cups. It's better for the teeth and language, and you would have to eventually transition from a sippy, so it's better to stick with a straw cup. Also, I've seen the straw (the top part of the cup) replacements for the Nuby cups at Buy Buy Baby.

I have been told the straw ones are much better for kids- the straw helps children develop better muscles for speech and the straw keeps liquids away from teeth so much better for teeth.

I have been told that the straw cups are better for language development than the sippy cups. My son (who never took a bottle or pacifier) did much better with the straw cups and never liked the sippy cups. You can buy replacement straws at teebop.com
