Which Dishwasher Is Quieter?

We want to replace our current dishwasher with a more efficient, quieter one. Ours is noisy and does a poor job of cleaning. We often have to run it twice or re-wash by hand. And we run it when we go to bed so we are not in the living room listening to it. I have looked at a few different brands on-line and I cannot tell the difference in the silencing packages. Only a few give dBA numbers. Others say they have
"Sofsound" or whatever other name they have for their quiet versions. But which is quieter? Who has a quiet dishwasher that you are happy with? Of course we are looking to spend as little as possible because we are cheap that way. Thanks ladies.

Our new home has a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III dishwasher and we absolutely LOVE it! We had a quality builder, but it was the builder's standard (not an upgrade), so I assume it wasn't too expensive. Check it out!

B. I love, love, love my dishwasher. It is GE Profile dishwasher. It is so quiet and cleans awesome! You can choose anything off of the GE Profile or up and you will be happy! In my current home they put in just a GE dishwasher and I was very unhappy with it. We upgraded to our GE Profile that we also had in our last house and we are still satisfied. Good luck!

I don't know which model is quieter, but did want to give you a hint for when you do get a new one installed. All dishwashers come with padding/insulation wrapped around them, it's what helps with the noise factor. When your new dishwasher is installed, take the padding off of the old one and wrap in onto your new one. That way the dishwasher actually has 2 layers of insulation on it. We've done this with ours and it works great!

I have a GE QuietPower3 and like it. You can go to an appliance store and tell them that you want something that is as quiet or quieter and they should be able to help you as I'm not sure that they make this model anymore (it was put in our house while it was being built, less than two years ago), but I'm sure that they have something that is just as quiet. Ours wasn't cheap, but it is worth it. We now wish that we had spent more money on our dishwasher to get an even more silent one, but you can have a normal conversation in the kitchen while the one we have is running.

We were having some issues with our dishwasher and recently called GE to see if this was a repair or replacement issue. We found out in the process that our dishwasher had actually been recalled and we were not notified. This started us on a dishwasher quest! We found in our research that Bosch is supposed to be the quietest around. My in-laws have one and swear by it! We also learned though that Bosch does not have an internal food disposal, which is part of why it is so quiet. (They are also very expensive & difficult to repair as they are a European brand.) YOu have to clean out little filters inside the dishwasher to remove food particles every so often. We wanted a no-maintenance dishwasher, so opted for one with a disposal in it, but that will increase noise. We just purchased a Whirlpool. They have 4 levels of quiet and ours is level 4. It is not silent, but cleans very well and is very quiet. We are most pleased! We purchased it at Rodenbaugh's in Allen, after visiting a number of stores and feeling like Rodenbaughs had the most knowledge about the products. We also checked consumer reports-- Kenmores get excellent ratings but they are made by Whirlpool and are essentially the same dishwasher. Hope this helps! Oh-- we also learned that stainless steel insides are noisier, but are often wrapped in more insulation to reduce noise-- imagine rain falling outside and hitting plastic instead of stainless steel! Sorry if this is rambling!
So hapy with my clean dishes!
