Which kind of bottles are best? I'm looking for a bottle that allows air in to reduce the vacuum effect in the bottle. I've beeen thinking about either the regular Avent bottles, or the Playtex Drop-in bottles. Both are available in BPA-free plastic.
I like the Born Free bottles. They are expensive, but good.
Dr. Brown's bottles have just recently come out with a BPA-free plastic bottle. It has a whole venting system which allows air to reduce the vacuum effect and also reduces the risks of ear infections.
I also really like the Born Free bottles. They are pricey, but they are BPA-free and great at reducing gas. I used Avent with my first two children, but they leak over time. I have used Born Free for 9 months with my son, and they are perfect. Good luck, and congratulations on your growing family!
I have used the Playtex Nurser Drop-in bottles for both of my kids and been very happy. You literally push all of the air out of the bags. My daughter had colic and these bottles were wonderful! I do feel a little bit guilty about the waste from the bags, but it makes cleaning pretty simple.
I'm using both Born Free & Dr. Brown's - I prefer the Born Free. They are expensive but worth it!
