My daughter is very close to needing her first haircut. We live in Lake Villa, and I go to a salon in Arlington Heights--too far to take her. Does anyone have suggestions for a child-friendly salon closer to home? I'm concerned she might be more than a little scared her first time so I'd like someone good.
There is a place at Hawthorn -I think it's called Kids Snips.
They have TV's at every station for the kids to watch to distract them.
But, they can run a little on the high side so if your daughter is just going to get a simple trip you might was to try something like Hair Cuttery or similar.
The Kid Snips in Hawthorn is by the play castle.
Kid Snips is good and so is Cookie Cutters. There is one in McHenry and I think there are a couple more, look them up!
There is a place in Vernon Hills mall that I recommend it is so neat they put on like Dora or whoever, the kids sit in cars to get their haircut, they get a little toy when done, and they give you a certificate for first haircut with a little piece of her hair. They will even put little clips in her hair. Its a cute place I definetly say for her first haircut this place would be worth it. I just don't remember the name, but you would know if you looked it up on the mall map, and people would know too.
We did Kid Snips for the first couple of hair cuts, especially the first--they make a big deal about it. Now we go to Supercuts Ect...places similar to Supercuts.
