Where to Find Slippers in Chicago/Oak Park area/Oakbrook

I have been searching everywhere for slippers for my 4 year old son - he needs them for school. So far, haven't been able to find any, ANYWHERE -- which I'm finding a bit odd. Don't have time to order online - need an actual store - he needs them for Monday. Any suggestions? We've been to Target, Children's Place, Gap, Old Navy, Gymboree, Babies R Us, Toys R Us.. At this point, I don't care about the price - I just need SOMETHING! Even slipper socks would be fine. He's a size 11, so toddler sizes don't really fit anymore.

Thanks so much!!

So What Happened?

My husband went to the Sears in the Loop and found a goldmine of slippers!

Thanks for all of your suggestions!

(We aren't at Intercultural, but we are at another local Montessori!!)

Are you by any chance an Intercultural parent? I'm laughing remembering the same search many years ago - my son started in January when the stores were cleaned out of slippers. (a friend rescued me with her old slippers). I may have some in that size - I'll PM you if I can turn them up this weekend.

You could try Leo's (the dance place in Galewood) for ballet-style slippers. And I did see kids' slippers about 2 weeks ago at the Sears at Oakbrook, in the Lands End section against the wall. (I'd call first, though.)

The Disney Store had Mickey Mouse and Cars slippers as recently as last week...my son has the them & they're actually quite well made.

I know what you mean in trying to find somthing. My daughter lost one of her slippers and trying to find another pair was almost impossible. I got the last pair a size up. If slipper socks are okay, you can get a really think pair of socks and buy puffy paint at Michaels or Joannes then pain dots or even squiggly lines on the bottom. If you can, have him wear them and then paint. It will make it easier and make sure the paint is in the right spots.
