There is a great shop in Winnetka - cant think of name - but it is on Green bay rd about a block down from the gap - on the same side of street. Great clothes - but I later found out Target sells some pretty cute ballet clothes and start to buy there to save some $$$ - dont know if they have the shoes.

Yes, Payless does carry them, and I get most of my almost 4 year olds dance wear at Target, although, the smallest size they usually carry is 4/5. The leotards tend to run small though.

Good Luck!

Most stores like Target, Walmart and Kohls have the clothes. The shoes are a bit harder to find. Try Payless Shoes, I think they carry them. Good luck!

A few people have already said Leo's and that's a great place. When I was little, that's where my parents would get my dance wear and I'm 25!! There was also this shop at Century Mall (if it's still called that), on Clark and Diversey, located in one of the higher floors, I think it was called Capezio. If it's still there, it's a gerat little place. Again, this was 15 years ago. Good luck.

I found mine at Payless shoes for my daughter last spring. They had a good selection at the time.

In Evanston, there is a dance store called New Attitude (i think). Its also in Andersonville in the City. THe Evanston store (on Davis) is closing so I think they are having lots of sales. Also in Evanston is a dance store on Central St. (don't know name, sorry!) its basically in between the Great Harvest Bread Co. and Starbucks on Central st. - acouple blocks west of Green Bay Rd.

Has lots to choose from, you might want to call them first to see if they have your daughter's size.

You can try Payless for Ballet slippers. Target aqnd Walmart haves dance clothes. Somtimes the class may have a box of used shoes.

My two year old is about to start ballet next week too. I know Payless sells ballet shoes in pink. I know when I bought my ballet slippers for my lithurgical dancing, that particular store sold ballet shoes and all kinds of dancing outfits for all sizes. It is a little pricey. Here's the website: www.ordermystepsdancewear.com. The store is located in Beverly and I live in Old Town. Depending on where you live, you might be able to find a dance shop.
