I've heard if your nursing it could even take as long as you are nursing to get it back. I got mine back when my daughter was 2 months old but I had nursing problems and had to switch to formula when she was 3 weeks old

My baby is 5 months & I have yet to get mine back either. I've even decreased the amount I nurse and pump (due to going back to work) and while that usually is enough to make most nursing mothers get their periods, it didn't for me.

While I enjoy not having a period, I'm eager to start trying for another baby, so I'm hoping it returns soon.

Every woman is different. I nursed my son, and I didn't get my period until he was 9 months old. A good friend of mine nursed her son until her was 2 years old, and she didn't get her period that whole time! I just think everyone is different, and like the other woman said - enjoy not having it for awhile!

Nothing to worry about, mine did not come back until a few months after I stopped nursing. It was about 12 months after the birth.

I got mine both times at around 6 month and i breast fed too, I think once you've introduced your baby to solids and they feed less often is when it will come back but be sure to be on birth control because i got prego with my second child at the 6/7 month mark

A lot of Woman are very lucky and do not get a cycle until after they are done breast feeding. Consider yourself one of them :) Others, including myself got it every other week! Yikes! But if you are really concerned call your doctor but I am sure you are just one of the lucky ladies. :)

V.,

From what I understand, your period often does not return until there is a change in your breastfeeding or until you stop. My returned after I stopped a feeding in the nighttime... much to my suprise. I wouldn't worry for a second-everybody is different!

You could call La Leche if you are really concerned!

Hi V.,

I'm not to sure on this because I'm a first time mom myself. I didn't get my period until I stopped nursing my daughter at 11 months. My OBGYN told me I probably wouldn't get one until I stopped nursing. I was on a birth control pill but I don't think that matters. A friend of mine didn't have her period while she was nursing her son. She didn't stop nursing her son until he was 18 months and she was not on any birth control pill. Don't worry be happy. :)

My period didn't return until I stopped nursing at 9 or 10 months. It was wonderful. I am living proof, however, that even with the absence of your period you CAN get pregnant while your nursing. My mom learned that the hard way when she got pregnant with me 3 months after my sister was born! So, be careful but enjoy these period free months!!

First of all, everyone is different. However, I nursed my son for a year and did not get my period back until I weaned at 13 months because of the birth control I use, I was thrown back into them (nuvaring). Your period will return. It takes longer when you nurse though .Enjoy not having it for awhile!!

Hi there! Nope, if you're exclusively nursing, that's often one of the major bonuses. LOL After I had my second child, who was exclusively breastfed, I didn't see my period until after he weaned ( 12 mos ). It was a great plus to nursing.

Nothing wrong whatsoever. : )
