When Did You Get Your Period After STOPPING Birth Control Pills?

I have taken Seasonique with perfect use for a year (plus or minus a day). My 3rd cycle I had NO bleeding, so I took a pregnancy test just to confirm that I wasn't pregnant, and it was negative. I finished my pack (again with no bleeding after I finished them, as I had expected) and now I'm still waiting for my period to start 6 weeks later. I'm sure I'm not pregnant as we've used protection since stopping the pills. Anyone have any ideas about what to expect?

What can I do next?

If you weren't having periods with the pills, I am wondering if it is just taking your body a little extra time to get back into it's natural routines. I would take another pg test just to make sure. Not all protection is 100% effective. If it's negative again, I would ask my OB about it.

I've not taken Seasonique, but when I used regular birth control pills, I didn't get a period for months after stopping them. In fact a year later, for four cycles I had to have Provera to jump start the cycle and clomid to ovulate.

After that, I began learning to use herbs to treat health issues. Drinking 2-4 cups of red raspberry leaf has always cleared up most female problems. Sometimes I have to take 4-6 capsules of a Nature's Sunshine product called N-FX, but that's for the more serious issues like large ovarian cysts.

I was on seasonique for a year and got my period as soon as I stopped. Then again 28 days later. But, everyone reacts differently to the hormones in the pills. If you are worried, I'd call and ask your ob/gyn.

I did not take Seasonique so I had my periods during taking the pill. However when I stopped to get pregnant with my son I didnt get my period for 4 months then I got sick and found out I was pregnant. I was not four month along I was just barely prego by only 5/6 weeks.

Then I got back on the pill after my son my periods were crazy and all over the place. I stopped taking them again because I couldnt take not knowing when and how my periods were going to be. My husband and I decided to use condoms but didnt like them so we said if we get pregnant than that was fine too. We were not really trying but we were not avoiding it. After I quit taking the pills that time I missed my period for 3 months. I kept thinking I was pregnant kept taking tests. Then found out at the end of the 3rd month I was prego again. Again I was about 5/6 weeks. It was a week before my sons 1st bday.

So until you get your period back on track. Go to the dollar store stock up on some tests. They really do work. They are what I used both times I got prego. It is nice to have them on hand to ease your mind. Also the stress about worrying if you are or can get pregnant can lead to missed periods.
