When Did Buying Jeans Become So Crazy!?!?

I need suggestions on jeans for ME! It's hard enough keeping the kids in jeans that fit, but I can not believe the time I am having trying to get a great looking pair. Boot cut is my fav but I also like straight leg with boots. I am a size 6 and regular length is good because I like to wear heals with them. I like for the pockets on the back to be a little lower on the booty. That is about my biggest request and EVERY pair that I have bought for the past two years, I don't like. They fit well for about an hour then stretch out too much. I hate baggy jeans in the back. If you have a brand that you would strongly recommend, please pass it along to me. Maybe I've missed somewhere to look. Thanks, Moms!!

So What Happened?

Went to a smaller size at Old Navy in the Sweetheart jeans and that worked wonderful. Very cute everyday jeans. For a little dressier I LOVE Miss Me jeans and you can catch on sale on local dept. stores. Thanks for all the suggestions!

LOL sounds like we have opposite problems! I like the boot cut jeans, but I have been....blessed?....with a bubble booty. They are either skin tight across the backside and fit my narrow waist, or fit properly in the backside and have a gap in the waist....Sigh.

Invest in designers. You'll never look back (nor will you have to buy a new pair for YEARS). Any designer denim will stretch WITH you. Meaning out and back as you move, take them off, etc...

True Religion has pockets that sit lower on the booty. Worth. Every. Penny!

If they stretch out too much, you need to wear a size smaller :)

I love Charlotte Russe jeans (but then again, I'm short, though I think they have long sizes)... and I found ONE pair at Target I love... and of course, as soon as I went back to buy a few more pairs, they stopped carrying them :(

I like Joe's Jeans. .but you will have to pay up for them. however, they have a nice cut, I think the "Vincent" and other styles.. What I like about them is that they fit nicely and the wash keeps longer than many other brands. in other words, they aren't as cheaply made. However, I am on a budget.. so while I LOVE JJ..... I have been known to shop at Old Navy. I have purchased their sweetheart jean and that looks good. Additionally, J CREW has a pretty decent bootcut.. although, I am short-waisted so the waist is slightly too high for me.. however, IF you have a longer torso, then I think it's a nice fit..

best of luck

It depends on your body type, size 6 doesn't mean anything. Look for two way stetch, they will fit you like a glove. Dark wash is slimming and more practical with small kids. If you are very thin, straight leg will do. If you are athletic/curvy boot leg is the best choice. It also depends on your budget true religions can cost few hundresds and banana republic $50-$100 both are my favorite and worth every penny. Always try a smaller pair and bigger pair.

Buy a size smaller. If they fit in the dressing room, they will be too big within an hour of wearing them. Size 26 fits me perfectly in the dressing room, so I buy size 25's and after wearing them for an hour or two they look like the 26's did in the dressing room.

Jeans have me my nemesis since I was 8.

I am long..and lean...with skinny legs and a giant butt....Where i got the butt who knows...but it is where ALL of my weight goes.

When we could afford it I had to buy Seven for all mankinds. They have more elastic in them, so they stretch alot better.

I refused to ever pay full price...So I would go second hand shopping for them....I never paid anymore then 35 bucks for them...and they go for anywhere from 150-300(depending on WHERE you buy them full price).

Go hit a Nordstrom Rack up....They have great deals on jeans that come in tons of different styles...I think if you are looking for variety that is a good place to start.

They're not cheap..but Rock and Republic jeans sound like they are JUST what you want. they have a website you can sheck out but you can find them at lots of places..I've found with them , if there is anymore then 5% Lycra in the denim..go a size smaller then you normally would. I have the Nora style, but I am longer in the body. You would probably like the Roth? Lots to pick from!!
I think the website is rockandrepublic.com
Have FUN!

I think what's more important than brand is fabric -- the ones that stretch out too much often spandex or some other stretchy material in them, especially all those new Lees and Levi's at Kohl's and such, ugh I can't stand it. I actually wanted to go try on the men's Levi's because they are more traditional and don't have the stretch. You need good old fashioned 100% denim, check the labels. AND, you get what you pay for.

My favorite jeans are Miss Me. They will run you about $100 but they are SO worth it. Silvers are also good & a bit cheaper but they are longer length which I need. Good luck with your jeans! I know the cost seems high but think of how much you wear jeans. A shirt you can only wear once a week or so, jeans, you can wear with many different outfits.

IMO there are too many styles of jeans for women. Skinny, boot, "slightly below the waist," "sits at the waist," flare, etc. I even so skinny jeans for my 18-month-old. I wanted to scream!

That said, I prefer Levi's that sit "slightly below the waist." I found them in Macy's and I'm sure they were made just for me.

I never shop brands but if I find one that molds to me I'm loyal till the end--unless of course they stop manufacturing that perfect fit.

I am a size 2. I like skinny jeans and a good tight fit, no baggy. I wear low riser as well.

Make sure they are very tight with you buy them because they will stretch a bit. Never buy jeans that fit perfectly in the dressing room... they stretch, hence baggy butt.

Favorites..... Guess Daredevils (around $100) Rock Religon (over $100 - I paid $135 for last pair) Miss Me (around $100)

I just bought a pair that is so freaking soft and comfortable from Anthropologie and they are the Stevie jean ($165) LOVE this pair... very dark blue, my new favorites.

I know they are pricey but I've been wearing the Guess for about 10 yrs so I got my money's worth out of those, I've had the Rock Religons about 2 yrs, Miss Me are fairly new and Stevie is new.

If you think about the long run, you get what you pay for and they last a long time.

Remember to try on many styles and brands to get what you want. Happy shopping!

ColdwaterCreek has a new style called "Modern mini bootcut jean" so they aren't as wide as bootcut but not as skinny as straight. They are awesome!! I debated b/c of the price but my sister talked me into trying them. They are now my favorite jeans!!! They have a little bit of spandex and they cover the rear. Here's their description:
Our most contemporary fit with a bit of urban edge. And a chic new silhouette to boot (so to speak). Not quite as narrow as our slim leg; not quite as flared as the bootcut – just the right balance for a clean, elongating look. Modern fit sits below the waist and is subtly shaped through hips and thighs. Five pockets. Cotton/spandex, machine wash. Imported. Inseams: (4-24) 33 in.
