You can put her in pre-school at 3 or 4...around here it is a matter of choice and what your needs are.
I would start looking around either way, alot of places have wait lists...
you might want to see about a MOMS club around in your area..it is a support system for stay at home moms.. they have field trips and go to parks, etc. It is a great way to get out and meet other moms in your area...

Children can go to preschool at any age or not at all. As a child-care worker who has worked in preschools, elementary schools and been a nanny, also a mother myself...I think it is good to have a chil go to SOME preschool. I will probably start my son at 3 1/2 and only send him three days a week. They still need their parents more than other children or school at this point but it is a good idea to start getting them used to a school setting because we have no choice once they reach kindergarten age!!
I truly believe less is best!!
And by the way, I am fairly new to Ft.Myers and am just now starting to make friends and join playgroups. Id love to set something up with you if you want to play!!! Ii have a 21 month-old son who is very smart and loves older kids if you want to make a playdate just email me!!! ____@____.com

I would definately start looking now for preschool because of the waiting lists.
I also agree with the MOMS Club (www.momsclub.org). I have 2 girls and we love it.
