Emily is Emmy, or Ninja. She's been a climber from day 1... she wasn't 5 minutes old and rolled over, TWICE, and almost rolled over the side of the incubator.

Madison is Madi, Madi too fatty (when she was a chunky 9 month old), princess, and my cuddle bug.

Romanov is Roman, No Roman, Roman Stop, Son!, the fat man, the meatster, chunka munk, super fat, chunkin punkin, and fat baby.

My fiance is Robert, but everyone calls him Rob. Around the house, I call him Bert. NO idea how that started!

My dad's nickname for my mom is Norman (her name is Patricia)... I have NO idea where it came from but it's great!

My now 16 year old daughter has been called "Pockets" since she was about 4? Before that is was the silly Mommy names we all do...and still use occasionally. ("B" is what her Dad and Grandma call her...the prominent sound in the middle of her name, as her name is not a shorten to a nick name type).

Pockets came about when anytime we were doing "work" or needed help, for a period of time, this child was sort of on strike, and her hands were always in her darn pockets. At this point in her life (from around her 2nd birthday until she was almost 6, she ONLY wore dresses, her choice and sort of obsession.. and I continually bought a line from Lands End. Simple knit jumper type dresses with 2 pockets on the front)

And she was a smarty darts about it too. "But Momma, I can't carry that cuz my hands are stuck in my pockets"..or .."Momma, my hands are sooo cold. They need to be in my pockets right now, so I can't pick up my toys." Stinker. So we started to call her POCKETS and it stuck! LOL Poor kid!

Jared (age 28) - when he was little we always called him "Jare-ba-dee", or bud. The girls always called him bubbee. Now he's just Jared

Charis (pronounced Karis, she is 25) Her middle name is Alicia, and we used to call her "Leeshy sue, binga boo" just to get a rise out of her. Then for a long time we called her "Leash". But she went by her first name. So we also called her Care Bear or Care-zee or sis. Now it's just Charis.

Hannah (almost 19) - Of course the ever present Hannah-Banana, or just banana, Han, Nan, or Pie (As in banana cream pie). Now it's just Hannah, Han and sometimes Pie. She answers to any of them. LOL!

Andrew (9) - Mostly the affectionate boy names. Bud, slim, red, stinky-boy, booger, goofball, goofy man. Since he's the only one home now, he gets called all sorts of things. We don't use Andy or Drew, or shorten his given name though - he's Andrew.

The grandson, Elijah has a ton. Elijah-bear, Eli, E, and all the above mentioned boy names. I like to call him grandma's boy. ;-) (He doesn't live with us, but spends a LOT of time with us)

I really didn't have nicknames for my most of kids. I liked the names I gave them and so I used them. And so did everyone else. Not that I have a problem with nicknames, it just never happened. But my middle child (son) did have a nickname till he was about 4. His name is James but for some reason everyone started calling him Porky. He wasn't chubby (at least no chubbier then any other child) so I'm not sure where the nickname came from. Once he started school he insisted that everyone call him James though (and not even Jim) so that's what he has been called ever since. He is now 29 years old. He doesn't even remember being called Porky.

Our Anna is, obviously, Banana among many other names. A couple of days ago I called out to her "Hey Bananaa!" And she's like "Yeah? OH! By the way, what's a Banana Hammock?" Who knows where she heard THAT one!

Kate is Katen or Katiebug. Or Patootiebug. or Patootie. Or YOUNG LADY! (she's 10 going on teenager).

My 13yr old son is Monkey or My Monkey. Sometimes Monkey Punkey.

They all LOVE and APPRECIATE all their nicknames and are thankful when I take the time to come up with new ones (^_^).

I am a little embarrassed to say we called my daughter "poopiemonster" and "captain poopie pants" for the first 2 years of her life, lol. I swear she thought it was her real name! My hubby said it one of the first days she was home from the hospital after changing a nasty diaper and it stuck. Well, we started calling her Bubba after that and now she is almost five and we hardly ever use her name---she answers to Bubba =)

On a side note, she never calls me mommy. She mostly calls me "honey" and sometimes just my first name or silly nicknames she thinks of.

We call my hubby captain crankypants, fart-blossom, or googlie-bear as a joke.

We are a family that loves nicknames!

My daughter, as a baby, was Dooper-Doo. I still refer to babies as "Dooper-Doos" and I still will call her Dooper-Doo (she's now 3.5) or sometimes just Dooper.

When she started getting out of the infant stage and into the more active toddler stage, she was Destructor, Hercules, and Turbo.

Other nicknames I have used for her:
Monkey
Monkey Toes
Short Cake
Sweet Pea
Sweetie Pie
Giggle Noodle
Sugar Muffin
Lady Bug
Pumpkin Head (and then she got a cut on her head when she ran into the corner of the wall sticking out, so then she was Boo-Boo Pumpkin Head)

We have 3 daughters, all grown up now. Desirae Megan got stuck with these nicknames: Desiraegan Mae and Residue Magoon! Deeann Christine became "Deeanny Wanny" and "Deeanna Christina". Dorie Samantha is: Snorey Dorie, Dorie Samantha Jane, and Sam (or Dorie Sam).

Grandkids: Brooke Lynn is called- B Lynn, B, and Booger Lynn;
Jordan Michelle is J or Jello (in school there are 2 Jordan's and ours' last name starts with L, so she's Jordan L, JL or Jello!);
Daryn - we call him Bubba or Bubby; Tanner is Tanner Man; and Taylor is Tater!

[My husband goes by his middle name, Dale, but his grandmother always called him Bubby, and his family has always called him Bud. My name is D. - not Deanna - and I've had many nicknames: Deaner, Beaner (my husband's favorite!), Dean-dud, and Dinner!]
