What Would You Buy on Amazon.com

I got a gift card ($250) for Christmas from my mom. Normally when she gives me a high dollar gift card to amazon I buy little things during the year for myself (a CD perhaps) or for my son (toys, a movie, anything!). But this year since I got no other gifts, I feel like I want to splurge on something nice/new/pricey for myself. But I don't know what! So what would you buy if you got a gift card to Amazon? Or what do you own that you just LOVE and recommend to everyone? - something useful or otherwise awesome? ie - I got my dad a "more edges" brownie pan I am considering buying for myself as well.

I welcome all ideas and links too! Thanks!

ADDED:
Me? I do read sometimes, but didn't want a kindle b/c I am not much of a book "buyer" as I just as happily rent from the library. But maybe a fun cookbook would be nice. Nah I don't really exercise. It wouldn't hurt for me to tone my core though. Maybe a workout DVD and tension band? I do like to cook and have considered buying a large mixer as I do like to bake. Honestly I think the $200 I got last year to Amazon I must have used on my son! I think I bought myself a couple pair of earrings that I now rarely wear. I love the suggestions so far. Keep them coming! One of them is bound to make me go "OH YES!"

What can I do next?

I'd buy myself a jewlery armoire. All my necklaces are in a tangled bunch in my dresser top jewlery box and all my earings are in a big pile too.

Last time I got a wonderful gift card like that, I replaced my pots and pans. The ones I had were not even being made any more, and I found a Cuisinart set that works just as well, so I'm very happy. A large mixer, too, will be a gift you'll appreciate year after year. My Kitchenaid has been helping me for some fifteen or twenty years.

Gosh, what WOULDN'T I buy at Amazon.com?!
(I use Amazon for pretty much anything I need to buy besides groceries. We have the Prime membership so we get free shipping and 2 day delivery on anything marked Prime.)
So, what do you want? You really can get pretty much anything in the world on there! Love to cook? How about a Cuisinart food processor? Love mine. You can do so much with it, not just chopping. You can whip cream, mix batter, puree, make sauces, salsa, frosting etc.
Want to get in shape? Plenty of exercise equipment and dvds you can get on there. What about a spin bike, kickboxing bag or a treadmill? Or a Kinect for the Xbox with one of the Zumba or Dance Central games?
Do you like music? I just received a new music player/speaker for my mp3 player, it is called a Jambox and it is great, really portable and the sound quality is very good. You could get something like that and some new tunes.
How about a Kindle or a camera?
You can also just get in Amazon and start browsing. You can add things to you cart and save them for later, for as long as you want. Amazon will then recommend items to you based on your browsing history.
I am sure you will find something you like, or just hold on to that gift card till you know for sure!

**One thing I just learned about the kindle is you can rent/borrow books on it. They have a "lending library" which per their site " Kindle owners can choose from more than 180,000 books to borrow for free with no due dates, including over 100 current and former New York Times best sellers and all 7 Harry Potter books." I am hoping this ends up being a handy feature because though we go to the library a lot, it is a pain in the butt to get to and to get those books returned on time!
If you are thinking about a cookbook, I would suggest Our Best Bites. It has been a really popular blog and cookbook this last year. Everything I have made from it has gotten rave reviews. My SIL and MIL love America's Test Kitchen, I also have really liked the Bon Appetit cookbook (big orange one).

I would probably use it for some kitchen stuff and then buy books throughout the year for my kindle. Do you have a kindle? If you are a reader they are awesome!

Get the mixer. I love mine. And check out the attachments. My mom just got one and got a bunch of attachments and she's using it for EVERYTHING! I could also use a really good knife set like my moms, lol.

I love, love, love my iPad. Unfortunately it has a broken screen. So, I'd get a new one and fix this one for the kids. Kindle would prob be the same-maybe handier to hide from the kids. I don't really care for ebooks either.
I also love my weighted hula hoop that I bought on amazon. Good, fun exercise.

A leather jacket, nice boots or a handbag I couldn't otherwise afford. Can you use the gift card for their local or travel deals? maybe a spa day?

I buy my skincare products at a much lower rate, plus free shipping! If I had a gift card for your amount, I'd just use it little by little. Heck, you can even use it to buy a gift for someone else if you have a birthday coming up.

If you can't think of anything to buy now, then save it for a rainy day when you open up your closet, cabinet, etc. and say "wow, I could use some clothes, appliances, etc."

my Christmas wishes came true: my family gave me the Ab Doer Twist & a FitBit Plus. I'd been eyeballing the Twist for two years, & right before Christmas the price dropped to <$100 !!! Final price, 1/2 off from a year ago & no shipping. ChaChing!

I would also vote for the new mixer. I think that's going on next year's list!

Amazon sells almost anything you would want. I thought for a long time it only sold books and movies. Did you know they even sell jewelry. What about a nice ring?

I'd do a stand mixer or a Roomba (probably wouldn't cover the whole cost--but would be a big chunk of it.)

Since I got a Blu-Ray player, I would replace some of my favorite movies on Blu-Ray.

Just FYI~ You can check out books for free from amny local library systems on Kindle, and other formats.

I am not an Apple person, but got one for Mothers day and also have had an ebook reader oldstyle (a Sony I had for 3 years before) that did not go online, but needed a cord hooked to computer to load books and charge, and I never, ever, ever, ever paid for a book and am an avid reader.

My local library uses the "Overdrive" library system/app and you can check books out for a max of 3 weeks (15 books at once..too many for me!). Can reserve them, make a wish list, etc. So if you are not opposed to an electronic book (some are), it could still be in the running for your gift idea! you might get a lot of use out of it if you are an avid reader!

Otherwise, I LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixer. LOVE it! I even got rid of many mixing bowls cuz I almost exclusively use the one on there!

Happy Shopping!!!

I love to shop for books. I can spend hours in the bookstore and spend hundreds of dollars, and I hate to shop for other stuff.

I get stuff for my son. He's a toddler, and I'm always perusing for toys and tools that fit him developmentally.

Just go on there and see what they have. I like to spend gift cards on things that I wouldn't normally buy for myself.

The kindle is addicting...even if you don't read you can watch movies and play games on it. However, if you're not into that maybe something for the house? I'm always looking for new pictures and stuff to hang on my walls that I don't need!
