36 vs 38 weeks won't make a real difference in terms of packing. But, since there are so many unknown things, the earlier you pack, the more helpful if things happen such as water is broken earlier etc. So I am with you and in fact I did pack my things around 36/37 weeks.

SInce you are 36 weeks, you might want to start the packing process now of things you don't use on a regular basis. Pack a robe, slippers, socks, camera, travel size toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant), a book, underwear, overnight, extra long size maxipads, baby's going home outfit and whatever else you think you might need. I gave birth 2 weeks early (after coming home from work on the subway I went into labor) and luckily didn't have to do a mad dash around the house looking for things to pack. The only last minute items I packed were my contact lens case, saline and glasses.

Hi I.,
You must be really excited about the approaching due date!
Now is a great time to start packing.
My son was about 2 weeks early and my husband was out of town when I went into labor and had to get to the hospital. So it was definitely useful to have everything packed and ready to go!
Good luck!

yes. Pack now!! I didn't, had my daughter at 37 weeks and depended on the husband to bring me the things I needed. He did a good job, but forget it when it came to the makeup! hahahaha. too cute. Good luck! Being a mom is the greatest thing EVER!
