Hi..
I think i've tried everything to get my floors clean.. everytime i wash it, a minute after, our socks are dirty... i've tried murphys oil, water with soap, a bunch of other floor cleaners... I'm at my wits end... Does anyone know a good floor cleaning solution? My floors are not Hard wood, its that fake hard wood looking thing.. i believe its called laminate... i've also bought a steamer/sanitizer.. which helps, but i need someting easier and something more practical.. thanks in advance for all the advise...

I used to be a maid, and one woman told us "please clean my laminate floors with Windex - that's what they told me to use on them when we had them installed". Seemed weird, but it worked and didn't leave streaks like most other things we tried on laminate. I would test it in a small hidden spot first though "just in case" it isn't exactly the same type of floor as this lady had ;)

Everyday I sweep or swiffer dust (main areas - not whole house). Then, about 2x per month I use a micro fiber cloth and warm water and just wipe down the floors. I use white vinegar and water in the kitchen to help cut through any spilled items, but that's it. I also found that most floor cleaners left a residue that actually attracted MORE dirt later on - hence your dirty socks?

Good question I've been meaning to ask myself! I use the Swiffer Wet Jet, and I find that it tends to leave streaks and my floors do seem like there is a film on them. I A. very interested in these responses as well - thank you!

Hey H.,

DONT use the steamer if you have laminate. It will ruin your floors. They DO NOT like water...I have the same kind of floors. I use a GREAT non toxic product. My babies crawl on the floor and put stuff in their mouths all the time that has been on the floor. I know they are safe :) Let me know if you want more info on it! I love it and it works! Can you imagine if all the stuff on our floors that we clean was in carpet? YUCK! Carpet now grosses me out knowing all the stuff thats in them from foot traffic. Talk to you soon.
