What to Store Dd's Barbie Stuff In???

I'm trying to find something cute to store my daughter's Barbie Dolls & Accessories in as a Christmas Present. I was thinking of some kind of a trunk or decorative box. Any ideas? Where can I find something like this?

I've already looked at Target and Toys R Us. I was thinking of going to Michael's and getting an untreated wood trunk and decorating it but I don't think I'll have time to finish it before Christmas.

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

When I was about 8, my grandmother bought me a square trunk to store my Barbies in and I STILL have my Barbies in it. It was cedar on the inside, with hinges, etc...basically, a footlocker, only it was shaped like a cube. It's beautiful, too...a close up of this huge fluffy white cat, very artistically done, sitting on a wicker chair with light blue accents...that's the pic on each side. I don't personally have cats anymore, but I still love the box.

I know in years past I saw similar boxes at Target, but they were just bright colors with the brass hardware. They're not necessarily the best "organizer" as it's just a big empty box...but stuff keeps well in them because of the Cedar and it's decorative...not ugly like a cart or tub.

My daughter's Barbie stuff is in a pink see thru tub in the basement. She never plays with them. :( I played with my Barbies my whole life!!!

I followed my kids' after school club example when it came to both Barbies and Legos...a SHALLOW yet wide container, the kind you store under the bed (lid is optional.)
Because it is shallow your daughter will easily be able to find what she's looking for, yet it's big enough to throw it all together!
I tried in vain to have a storage system for these things, I am SUPER organized, but sadly my kids are not, nor do they seem to care :(

I love the shelving units with the pretty baskets and liners .
I also like the idea of a shoe rack to put behind the door to place
the barbies in. They are a perfect fit . You can find a pink on or
a pretty fabric one online.
I also like a small curio cab that you would use for a doll or am doll
and then using it for the barbies.

How about a small chest of drawers..
You could paint it with her name on it.

I purchases just a practical plastic 4 drawer storage thing on wheels. She could roll it into other rooms and leave it in her closet.. I also purchased a 60 drawer storage box like from the hardware store for her to storea ll of the accessories in little drawers. You could point to any drawer and tell you. Sandals, Ken casual shoes, necklaces, spring handbags.. It was pretty amazing..

I keep my daughters Barbies in a rubbermaid tote (or something simular, not sure of the brand). It is the flat kind and has wheels so it fits nicely under the bed. The lid can be opened one side at a time or the entire top can come off. She can get it herself and makes putting them away a snap. I see thay make them with different color lids so you can try to match her room colors.

How about going ahead and getting the untreated trunk, and with it you can tape a note that states that you guys are going to decorate it together, it's going to be a fun mother-daughter project. You can make your own stencils, or buy some, however, and she can pick what she'd like to have on it and the colors she'd like to use and you 2 can have a ton of fun together decorating it. Kids always have fun doing artsy things, and it makes it even more special that you're helping her do it, but in her own way too. Good Luck!

I'm going to give you two ideas. the first is a large hat box. my granddaughter loves hat boxes. they are great to store multiple items in. but the better thing is a large shoe bag that will hang on the back of her bedroom door. the kind with clear pockets. she can sort and store all her barbie stuff in that. barbies can be in pocketes, clothes, shoes accessories etc. my boys have had shoe bags on their closet doors since they were babies. we have stored changing table stuff and then legos electronics kinecs and so forth. game boys, games, controllers, socks, and even lol shoes good luck
