Hi sweet moms! We are going to NYC to visit my husband's aunt. The last time we went the kids were just 3 years and 4 months old. We didn't do much other than spend time with the aunt. We are staying at the Marriott Marquis in Time Square and I'd love to know of any fun things to do or kid friendly restaurants anyone could suggest around there. They are 4.5 years and 2 years old now. We plan to visit Toys R Us and FAO Schwarz again. Thank you!

A short walk north, away from the Central Park Zoo and Children's Petting Zoo is a small playground that I used to LOVE taking my kids to. There is an AMAZING granite slide that the kids love going down. I would look for a broken piece of cardboard box to slide faster down. I'd put the 2 yr old on my lap to go down.

My kids are 12 and 7.5 now and we go every other year. We were there over Spring Break. I would not eat at Bubba Gump in Times Square. It's an expensive, just so-so tourist trap.

time out ny kids magazine or Time Out Ny magazine is the first thing I pick up at the airport.

Mommy poppins NYC also is a great website for ideas.

I love Central Park. But my daughter (7.5) had a hard time with all the walking.

Museum of Natural History is always good.

I happen to love Top of the Rock viewing deck at Rockerfeller. It's far superior to the Empire State Buildling.

I have an annual tradition of taking them for breakfast or brunch at POPOVER's on the Upper East Side. It's so yummy and unique. They used to have teddy bears all over the booths, but took those away. At least you get to visit a real NYC neighborhood instead of just a touristy spot.

take a double decker bus tour. This turned out to be the best thing for us...we could do a ton of sightseeing with a guided tour, the kids thought the bus was cool and we could get on and off at all of the main attractions and another bus would be along to pick us up.

oh definitely go to the museum of history. Its huge. You can just take the subway and their is an exit right at the entrance. My daughter loved it. Bryant park is amazing little grassy area where they have story tellers and races etc for kids on the grass. The zoo was great when I was little. We didn't make it the last time I was there with my daughter so not sure if it is still awesome. Centeral park of course. climbing the rocks and just running with other kids. took sight seeing bus down to battery park to see statue of liberty. The employees of the company were rude and nasty .It was a double decker bus do not let your kid sit on the outside because mine kept wanting to put her hand out over the edge which is very dangerous. Battery park was great she got torun around and they hae little cafe's and play areas for kids. there is also a cement playground at the se edge of the park

I think if I visited New York City, I'd sorta go willy nilly and just walk around and test food places and take it all in. Some things don't need a plan.
