What's a Nice Watch Manufacturer - NOT Rolex!

I'd like to get my husband a new watch for our 10yr anniversary at the end of this month. I want something nice, budget around $300? I know the style he likes, but not sure what manufacturers to search for online - I'll probably be ordering it.

Thanks for suggestions!

Oh, I should ad that he is a business guy and dresses nice for work, so something nice but not too fancy.

Does anyone have any experience with the Citizens Eco Drive? They never need batteries! Which would be cool because whenever his battery goes out, it takes him like 2mo to go get a new one.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks Bug - I looked on Amazon and found a Citizens $100 cheaper than on the Citizens website AND free shipping! I'm leaning toward that one.......but still not sure.

Thanks to everyone - I ordered the Citizens Eco Drive Stiletto on Amazon and saved 40% off the MSRP on the Citizens website!!!

Thanks Luna for more insight into my decision......glad to know the Eco Drive has fans because I never heard of it until today!!

I got my husband a really nice Swiss Army watch 4 years ago, for Christmas. It's very professional, but sturdy. It's a great looking watch. I got it off amazon, because they run great sales. He also has a really nice Fossil watch.

P.S

Yes!! My mom gets my dad a new Citizen Eco Drive every Christmas. He has SO many of those watches. I forgot about that brand. He has never had a complaint about any watch. They look great, too.

Hi A.-

I LOVE my 'movado'...I got my (now ex) hubby one for our 10 year anniversary...and the watch outasted the marriage!

Their motto used to be something like 'not just a time piece...but a work of art'...

Best luck!

JC PENNEY will have its annual sale the 1st weekend in November and I believe I saw 60% off gold and silver watches one year.

I bought my husband a Citizen eco-drive (black face with silver & black metal safety band, with rotating bezel) discounted from around $350 to $175 I think it was? He is still wearing it 2 or 3 years later and it runs great. Looks sharp, too.
I found it discounted at a Macy's on a Black Friday. They also had a women's one (different style, two-tone metal band but still eco-drive) and I bought it for myself. Wearing it right now. Never take it off. Works great, keeps great time, looks sharp.
I had considered the other type of non-battery watches (can't recall what they are called at the moment, but the ones that rely on motion to keep them running) and was told by a jeweler that while they do work, they tend to not keep as accurate a time as other watches. So when I came across the eco-drive, I was sold. As long as you don't stick them in a box for 6 months straight, they will keep on running...
Just be sure to read the instructions that come with it initially, because I remember there being something a little funky about the first time you "charge" it with light---- like not sitting it out in direct sunlight or something .... ? But that is just for the initial charging. So read the directions b/c they are a little different than a regular battery watch.
Love ours!
Great choice!

I have a citizen Eco drive as does my hubby and mom - we LOVE them! A friend of his has the titanium one- it is so light! My dad has a Bulova that is supposed to not need a battery and is run by motion but if he doesn't wear it for a bit he has to shake it for a few minutes and re-set it. Pain in the butt!
