OMG, My husband and I are obsessed with the cranberry oatmeal dunkers from Trader Joe's. They have white chocolate drizzeled on top. They are cheap and great. Try Trader Joe's if you have one near you, they have tons of different snack at reasonable prices. Also, they usually don't have all that artificial stuff in them.

If they are just to have around and impress guests, look for anything that's a bit more "upmarket" - using quality ingredients or European style cookies (well, over there, they call them "biscuits".) Things from Pepperidge Farm (Brussels, Milanos, etc), or the "Lu" brand of cookies (Le Petit Ecolier, Pims, etc.). I've noticed in a few specialty fruit markets that have lots of international foods (Such as Garden Fresh Market or Market Place in Skokie, or even Cost Plus World Market and Trader Joes) have lots of interesting looking cookies from around the world in beautiful packaging...so much to try!

I like the ones from Costco, the huge chocolate chip chunk cookies. They are great for parties and always go fast. But that's just my opinion.
