Hi Moms. I recently started doing my own nails and they have been coming out really nicely. The only problem is they are always chipping and I have to redo them almost every day. Last night I did a french manicure and was really pleased with the results. This morning they are chipped before I even went to work. I used Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat. What kind really works? Thank you!

What can I do next?

My little sis works as a manicurist in Ohio at an exculsive spa and used to send me this top coat that I could not buy here without a license. I just found it at Sally's!!!!!!!! I swear by it. It's called Seche Vite top coat.

It costs a little more but the OPI products really are better...any of the topcoats. Go to Ulta or another beauty products store and get a clerk to help you choose.

Seche is a great product I use that one most. Out the door is great as well. If you are putting polish on natural nails, it's going to chip no matter what you do, but it should last atleast a week. You just have to prep your nails before putting on polish. Make sure you have no oils on your nails. Use a cotton ball and polish remover to dehydrate the nail plate. Then make sure there is no cotton left on the nail surface. Then always apply a base coat to avoid yellowing of your natural nail. Then apply only 2 coats of polish or your nails will chip, then add a great fast drying top coat and nail polish should last. Keep in mind if your hands are in water alot it will chip. Water is a natural remover it wears the polish down. At about the end of the week or even mid week apply one coat of your top coat. Or is you have an Ulta store near you check to see if they sale Essie polish or OPI and see if they have a freshen up top coat that is for touching up the shine of your polish. Hope this helps.

My manicurist uses Out the Door and my polish never chips. Ulta may have it or you could try Sally's Beauty Supply.
