What Is on Your Kitchen Counter? Yes, Another Question!

I always have a utensil caddy by the stove, my coffee pot, 2 knife caddies, butter dish (I hate hard butter), bowl of garlic and my banana holder suspender thingy. I don't have a huge kitchen but its not small, and yet I just don't seem to have any room. Is there anyone out there that has absolutely nothing on their kitchen counter?

What can I do next?

Nearly all of my counter space is covered with things I use every day or even every week. I have difficulty putting things back in the cupboard. I hate not having much counter space but not bad enough to change what I'm doing. lol

Going left to right...I have 2 fruit stands, sink, Saladmaster, paper towel holder, butter dish, napkin holder, very large salt and pepper mills, knife block, Toaster, utensil holder, stove, coffee container, coffee maker, basket of sugars, creamer container and fridge. We also have a built in desk and that's where we all pile stuff. I used to have the Forman Grill and toaster oven but have managed to downsize somewhat. I do feel better when there is less out. I'm trying to downsize the entire house and get rid of all the clutter.

I have some crumbs, a few dirty dishes, my knife holder and my canisters, coffee pot, toaster, mixer, and some misc papers I don't want to throw away but don't want to keep either. I keep a bowl of fruit and there is usually some type of toy around or a jacket, bills that need to be paid too, and a rubber band.

I have a house from the 70s so everything is big BUT the kitchen. I have 2 useable countertops I keep a toaster oven on one and on the other in between the stove and the sink I keep a juicer, a microwave, a coffee grinder and a lazy Susan that has very used spices and condiments on it.

I want a remodel so bad.

I try to keep as little as possible. A paper towel holder, utensil holder, spice rack, knife block, toaster and a microwave. As soon as I can score a deal on an over the range microwave the microwave will be gone. Then there is usually a loaf of bread and a thing of bananas.

KitchenAid mixer in the corner (not taking up any space because it's so far back), knife block, coffee pot - that's it. I can't handle clutter when I'm trying to cook, so I've found homes for everything else... the papers, miscellaneous small toys, utensils, food, etc. The only stuff that stays are the three big items that won't fit elsewhere.

Dish drainer that is under sink when not in use. Utensil container (made by me!), stack of decorative boxes tucked in dark corner to add brightness and so nothing else gets shoved back there, My favorite Portmeirion batter bowl and some ceramic containers my grandmother painted before I was born, the stand mixer (because we made 8 doz. cookies last night. it will be under the counter by nightfall), and my toaster oven with butter dish (I too hate hard butter and don't do margarine)

I used to have nothing but my microwave but then I met Troy. He likes things on the counter. I don't like things on the counter because I swear they act like magnets! Put a blender on the counter and all of a sudden you have a cup next to it, some thing you cannot figure out a place for, crumbs that hid under said blender, then why put that knife away the counter isn't clean anyway, all of a sudden cluttered mess!

At the moment, from left to right, gadget holder, coffee maker, coffee grinder, mocha maker, olive oil, salt, pepper, another gadget thing, paper towels, knife block one, cutting boards, sink, drain board (why??!! I have a dishwasher!!! still love that man), knife block two, microwave. The island has two spice racks and a cutting board.

Now I feel like going home and cleaning my kitchen, thanks for that! :( :p

I just saw Molly's response, my ninja, and thought that was a nick name for one of her kids....oops

Too much. The banana hanger, the coffee pot, toaster, standing mixer, spice rack, utensils, knives and other family debris.

I have a large kitchen and a huge island. My flat top stove is on the island.

I have large wooded cutting boards on each side of the cooktop (helps protect the island) I have a fruit bowl, napkins and candy jay on the island as well. I keep the area where you can use barstools and eat clear and I can seat 5 comfortably at the bar area.

The rest of my counter space which runs along the outside wall is a wine rack, toaster oven and toaster. I do keep a small dishrack by the sink when no guests are here because there are some things I will not put in the dishwasher.

Other than that, it is pretty clean and clear. I don't like to have a lot of stuff on my counters. I am fortunate to have good storage and a large area.

I have a 3 counter kitchen.
Where my oven is I have my coffee machine with what I need for my coffee on one side and on the other my olive oil, salt pepper, and a jar for my cooking spoons.
The other smaller counter has my pop corn ball with my pop corn salt.
The L counter where the sink is, I have my blender, toaster, grill on one side, and on the other my paper towel, my bowl of fruit, and a few deco.
My kitchen is medium.

Not I. I have a small kitchen. On the counter are the coffee-maker, the toaster, the knife set, and a wooden bowl to hold fruit. The fruit bowl is decorative as well; the other items are out because there's not cupboard space where they can go in and out easily.

I have a lot of stuff on the kitchen counter. Some might say it's cluttered up, but it's clean, tidy and works for us! Plus, I like pretty dishes and crockery, so it looks nice to me.

I'll only become capable of being a minimalist when I take my last breath!

In my dreams!

I hate clutter and right now on my counter I have: a toaster oven, butter dish, blender, canisters, jar of teabags, utensil caddy, spoon rest, coffee maker, hot pot for tea water, bread in a bread box a package of buns and Dawn dish soap. Grrrrrrr......!

You know the Terminex commercial where the whole house is made of concrete and there are NO knickknacks?
THAT is my dream house-LOL!
My realistic dream is when we do our kitchen remodel, I will get a large, deep pantry closet for most of the stuff that sits out, clogs up my "real" cupboards or has to be downstairs right now.

I have a knife caddy, the coffee maker, and a metal bin that contains everything else. In the bin right now is: olive oil, a bag of coffee, a little dish containing garlic, a container of kosher salt, canola oil, and an opened bottle of cooking wine with a cork in it. It sounds like a lot of stuff, but being that it is all contained in a bin, my countertop actually looks clear. It's very easy to clean the countertop, because all I have to do is shove the metal bin out of the way. :)

Do you have extra drawer space? There may be a drawer that has stuff in it that is taking up valuable "real estate" and can be stored elsewhere. You can use knife drawer blocks and dividers in another drawer for utensils to keep them nice and organized. It would drive me crazy if I didn't have counter space. We don't drink coffee so we don't have a lot on our counter.

I added two microwave carts in my kitchen to give more counter space. They hold the toaster and toaster oven (and appliances and cookbooks underneath). We only need a breakfast table now instead of a full kitchen table.

There is nothing on my counter when I am not cooking or cutting vegetables. I do have a dishrack that goes over the sink. It has a shelf to hold the dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and alcohol spray. It also has a side rack that holds gloves and a dishcloth. The rack had many different options for add ons. I got it through amazon. I love how clean my counter always looks! This rack made all the difference. It was a little more expensive than your average dish rack, but oh so worth it for the peace of mind!
