Hi Mamas!

I am trying to make my life more organized and efficient and thinking that it is time to upgrade. There so much new technology on market right now that can make busy moms life easier, and therefore happier. I am so tired when I get home after work, I have no energy to do anything in the evening. Thinking to buy a smart phone that will enable me to access my personal emails when I am out of the house, read internet articles, watch doctor Oz (lol), maybe finally start using facebook, etc. iPhone vs Blackberry vs Samsung vs Nokia vs etc...? Kindle, Nook, iPad …and more ... ? What do you have and how do you use it?

My stainless steel floral shovel! Gets me outside where I can hear birds, rustling trees, and feel the wind in my face. Free exercise, too. That's where life is most real for me! And I paid for it once; don't have any added fees.

Technological gadgets are not relaxing, are very addictive, and keep my mind racing. If you are actually going to use the organizational perks, then they may work for you, but I don't see many people using them to be organized, they use them for fun. Being overly connected is not fun & is kinda just too much for me.

I have a smart phone & I don't even really use it for the data capablities that much. My favorite feature is the navigation.

I am either at work, or at home, so when I'm just... waiting somewhere, I tend to just want to turn my brain off & not even think.

You all know how I feel about techy gadgets....hate them and they hate me. I also hate teeny tiny screens and keyboards. I'm farsighted so you can see how that just doesn't work for me..lol. Now....in the kitchen....my juicer!

I don't know how having an Ipad will help you feel less tired. You will be spending time on all those internet items and any free time will be used up "playing" on the net.

The labor saving devices I love are my electric ice cream machine, automatic sprinklers and my bread maker.

Good luck to you and yours.

iPad! Right now, since the iPad 3 is out, the iPad 2 is under $250.
I use it for everything. FB, emails, games, books (reading a book on it it wonderful, you'll never want to buy a paperback again.) banking, shopping, literally everything. The battery life it great, we only charge it at night while we're asleep. It lasts all day w/o being charged.

Ya know, you would think with it in my hand I would do things like that. That screen is freaking small!! Pretty much I use my phone for screening emails. If it is something I need to deal with I get on a real computer, with real keys, and a screen that doesn't look like it belongs to mice.

I do have a broadband netbook which is nice when I am more long term out and about. That is sort of what I am typing on at the moment. See I am typing on my work keyboard and the image in on my work monitor but I assure you the interface is my netbook. :p

Can you tell I like keys? And screens that don't make me fear I will be blind by the age of 60?

Personally, I'd get an iPad for the things you're planning.
And keep a cell phone.
We have a Mac, MacBook Pro, iphones and an ipad.
When I use the iPad after using the iPhone for email/FB/etc. it seems HUGE! Much easier on that.

Love having my iPhone for emails and Internet. Love my iPad, don't have 3G but still love it. My most useful gadget of this last year that has improved my cooking by, say 40 percent? My digital meat thermometer. I don't cook things too long anymore. Can't live without my crockpot. Love to have recipes on my iPad. I can even take pics of the ones I have and no need to store pieces of paper! The thing I want? That scanner that puts stuff on your computer. You just slide the paper through. Ooooo. Good thing I sleep with my tech guy....for 25 years!

I like the combination of technology I have, just enough for my family. We have one smartphone(without a data plan), a kindle, a computer with 23" touchscreen, high speed internet(and phone service). This is enough technology for the 3 of us so that each could be watching tv while browsing online all at the same time. When we are at home the smartphone, kindle, and computer are connected online with wi-fi, and phone calls go through the regular phones. If we're out somewhere that has free wi-fi(McDonalds, Starbucks, etc.) we can use the phone or kindle to check emails, and our voicemails from home are emailed to us. We can get calls on the cell phone, or read books and play games on the kindle anywhere. We also set up our touchscreen computer so that Android games will run on it.

I LOVE my Samsung Galaxy S3. In my opinion better than the iphone. I am on it now. I have my phone, email, tasks, calendar at the tip of my finger. I can also listen to music, surf the web and watch tv/movies any time. I Skype from my phone. It also has a android suri feature which is like a personal assistant. LOVE IT!

Not sure i could live without it...

Love my iPhone and iPad.
I find that I get less stress about the wait when I'm busy on one of them - like the doctor's office, school, etc. I take it with me and catch up with FB, read a digital magazine, read a book, play a game, etc. The time goes by faster and I'm not sitting there looking at my watch, tapping my foot, and stressing out.
And I find it nice to sit and relax and do things in bed at night instead of sitting at my desk.

I have a stupid smart phone and an IPad. I love my Ipad it can do everything a smart phone can do and more. Except maybe an Iphone and those can do the same thing as an Ipad but the I pad has bigger screen and to me easier to use than the ipod touch. And honestly you can use the Ipad as a phone if you choose to. And for texting. I would not want to give mine up for anything else.
