What Do You Use in the Shower?

What do you and your family use to wash in the shower? Washcloths, loofah, etc? What works best?

I hate wash clothes - I never have any place to hang them after use and it drives me nuts to have three or four wet washcloths draped over the tub in some fashion.

Are loofahs hygienic?

Any other suggestions?

Hands and soap, I find wash cloths and sponges, loofahs, etc. gross (breeding ground for bacteria) just my opinion :)

Mrs. CLean answering. I placed several hooks on the back wall of the tub. The paste on ones. Each washcloth hangs on it's own out of reach of the others. In mine which is a mitt I place the soap I want to use. I wash with it over and over until the soap is gone. Soap is totally antiseptic. No germs on my washcloth.
Loofah's destroy the skin by leaving microscopic bits of themselves on or just under the skin which fosters growths.
I never ever ever wash my face and neck with soap. I using cleansing milk as a result my skin in wrinkle free.

hands and soap here, glad i'm not the only one :) i let my son use a bath pouf and some body wash, because he's 4 and hasn't mastered the bar of soap yet. it's just easier for him if i hand him a pouf with some body wash in it.

Hubby uses the wash clothes, we have something that hangs on the showerhead where we can hang a wash cloth. Also have hung it next to the towel to dry.

I use a loofah, I buy the cheap ones from walmart or target. They seem to last about 3-5 months so I replace them every 3-5 months. I may replace them more then others but mine seem to unravel or fall apart in that time frame. For the nicer ones, which I hope to get one next time I plan on throwing in the washer/dryer if possible or maybe even dishwasher to keep clean.

I use the plastic loofahs/net puffs things. Daughter and I share one, Daddy has his own. Funny how I hate to think about sharing a towel or shower puffs with another adult but have no issue sharing with my daughter LOL.

We replace them every few months - or when I remember.

We use loofahs. They dry well, and I sometimes will stick them in the washer after a few months of use. I havent found a better option!

I use the loofahs you get at Bath and Body, the scruncy ones. I bought a hook that sticks to the side of the shower wall and hang it on that. They dry out pretty good b/c they are full of holes. Eventually you have to change it out but you can get one really cheap. Walmart, Target, etc all carry them. My husband uses a wash cloth and hangs it over a rail in the shower but it begins to stink over time and needs replacing even after you wash them. Both kids use a loofah too.

to my knowledge loofahs do not host bacteria. Never ever have a problem with them I love them and so do my kids. They never stink never look grose. They do get replaced more then I would have to a towel but they do fall apart eventually especially if you buy them cheap!

Those net puffs.
Don't know what you call it.

Natural Loofahs... well I don't like them
It can mildew.

Wash cloths don't dry very fast.

I use a clean wash cloth each shower. Anything else gets so yucky so quick that I don't feel like I'm getting clean.

We use those poofy things. We each have one. I have suction hooks inside the shower that I hang them on...near the window, so they dry faster.

I got all excited a few years ago when Ikea had some hanging mesh cylindrical toy cubby thingmys that were 5 or 6 cubbies long and each cubby about the size of a coffee can. I cut off all but one of the cubbies and used the top one (and a suction cup) as a used washcloth drip dryer in the corner of the shower (new wash cloth every day, used one in the cubby, tossed them all in the wash every other day or so).

After 5 years, the durn thing ripped. Sigh. And I haven't found a replacement.

So now we use plastic loofa poofy things. They hang to dry on hooks in a shower caddy, don't go sour/mildew/get gross like fabric can (aka why I won't use a washcloth more than once) and pop right into the washing machine once a week.

You can get little hooks for the shower- they're made by 3M, I think. They remove easily when you don't need them anymore.

We use the poofy ball shaped "sponges"- and I use scrub mitts.

Best wishes!

I'm with Mamazita on this one. Loofahs and washcloths are nasty unless you wash them after every use, IMO. We just use soap and hands! I also use an exfoliant (kosher salt mixed with olive oil, sometimes with a little brown sugar mixed in) once a week or so, to slough off any dead skin.

We use the nylon scrunchies that we bought at Walmart. I wash with Dove bar soap. I have the white hooks that glue on the wall surface and we each have our own hook and hang our scrunchies on our hooks.

The kids use bath puffs and we,mom and dad, mostly hand and soap (one for each, or just a neutral liquid soap) After each bath or shower puffs are washed and hung on hooks, however, I change them very often. Sometimes, I use the bath puffs with my shower gel. I use intimate liquid soap for my private area (no sponge, no wash cloth...).
