i am just curious as to what kind of baby wipes and shampoos and everything that everyone uses? i used to use the parents choice with shea butter wipes and johnson and johnson curly shampoo or head to toe shampoo on my kids, but ever since i found out that they have formaldehyde in them i quit. gross. i make my own baby wipes now and switched to koala pals for their shampoo and body wash.

What can I do next?

I always used the "free" wipes for sensitive skin with no chemicals or fragrance in them.
And for baby shampoo, etc. I always used ABC by Arbonne. It works great and is totally safe.

Hi Le Anne,

We either use alcohol or scent-free wipes, or just regular washclothes. For the skincare line, I use Arbonne ABC baby care (which I also sell). The wash, lotion and oil really have helped my son's eczema. The products are pure and safe; you can check it out at www.botanicals.myarbonne.com.

Good luck to you!

I completely agree with those that say ARBONNE IS THE BEST! Pure, safe and natural. EVERYTHING they sell is that way! No "YUCKY" stuff. No lanolin (boiled-down wool, which is like sheep sweat and body oil - another eeewwwww!), no petrolium (derived from the same oily stuff you put in your car), and no added scents - the great smells are from the natural ingredients with which the products are made, such as chamomile, lavendar, orange and ylang-ylang.

I have tried other stuff and don't think Shaklee or Meleluca are nearly the quality Arbonne offers. Save your money! Start with Arbonne!

when I was home I used paper towels and water for wipes. The bounty select a size work great and are just the right size. I had a bowl of water close by and would put the paper towel in the water and wring it out and use it like a wipe. We bought pampers baby fresh wipes to use in the diaper bag when water wasn't always available but did carry a baggie of paper towels to use when water was available.

I only used baby magic for the bath and also used it for shampoo. I didn't like Johnson & Johnson shampoo so just used the baby wash for their bath and it worked well as a shampoo too and their hair smelled better with it too.

My ped's office is adamant about using only Huggies wipes- all others have harsh chemicals. We use Huggies for sensitive skin. We use organic hair/body wash-- I order it from a place online and we've been using it for 4 yrs- and I still like it. We use their lotions too.

We use Burt's Bees products for soap, shampoo & lotion. (We don't use wipes anymore, but I made my own also.)

Le Anne,

I use all toxin free products. I use to use all the Johnson and Johnson stuff too until I found out all the harmful chemical in it. Now we are toxin free in our home and love it, we wouldn't use anything else but the awesome products we found. We are using Koala Pals body wash and shampoo on our 3 year old son and our twin girls that are just 2 weeks old. We love it!!!

We use California Baby shampoo and Pampers unscented wipes. Check on products on the environmental working group's site. Look at the sunscreen section too.

Hi there! I know it's been a few days since your post, but I wanted to add one quick suggestion. Whichever brand you choose to use on your little, try washing your face with the wipes first. If it stings or feels scratchy on your skin, it won't feel good on your child's bottom. I tried this out with the wipes I used on my kids when they were little and it surprised me. Some feel fine on you hands, but are actually kind of scratchy on more sensitive skin.
Good luck!

I use Camus Goats Milk baby shampoo/wash and baby lotion. I use Huggies Naturals wipes.
I was unsure how sensitive my baby's skin would be, so we started out using California Baby wash and lotion.

I threw out all of my J&J products for the same reason. You can go to EWG.com/org and search for the sign up sheet to sign your name to a list of names of parents that will be sent to the company asking them to remove the chemicals from their products... in protest. Google it. They have been asked to remove the chemicals in the past to no avail. They have actually refused/ignored. I am glad you quit using their products, I wish more would do so. You can also go to safecosmetics.com/org and click on baby products, type in what products you use or are thinking of buying and it will rate on a scale the chemical content, 0-3 being the lowest. We use california baby, rated 3, though expensive. Method, sold at Target is also low along with Waleda. You are making your own baby wipe, I cant wait to do that with the next. I have used hot washcloths in the past. We are planning on purchasing a towel warmer (the small microwave type that you see in nail salons) that holds 20 or so wet washcloths. We have a basket hanging near the washer and we throw all of our wet dishtowels, burp cloths and bibs in there throughout the day and when it is full I wash them, about every other day.... so we can add our homemade wipes to the pile. Good for you for going green. Small steps can have a huge impact for your baby and the earth.

I switched to Arbonne, too, after the study came out about Johnsons' products having the chemicals linked to cancer in them. For convenience, we also use California Baby which is available at Target.
