I have been sorting and stacking my daughters school papers all thru the first grade. Not to mention the cute papers my 2 yo made at Mothers Day out. My plan was to go thru them and pick out my favorites to save, but Im at a loss. What do you moms do to treasure those papers? I know I need to keep it to a minimum because we still have many, many more to go. Thanks for any advice or ideas!

What can I do next?

I would have your girls choose which ones they would like to keep from each grade--they ones they are most proud of. Maybe one or two. My mom kept TONS of stuff for me, which I definitely appreciated, but it was just so much to go through as an adult!

Well, I am pretty sappy at this point still and I likewise have struggled to throw things away, but I have heard of people taking pictures of them and then you can always scrapbook them later. I know it is difficult! GOod luck!

I keep the cutest papers in a Memory chest and the rest go in the recyling.

I have a tote that I place papers in that 'look' like something worth keeping. Then at the end of each grading period (for us it's 9 weeks), my daughter and I sit down and choose a few things that she thinks are important (I make her tell me about the project) and then, I place them in clear paper sleeves and put them in a binder. I take pictures of her before each grade and place that in the beginning of the section for that year. If there are VERY SPECIAL paintings that she has done, I put those aside and let her choose one for each grandparent, and let her frame it for them for a gift for christmas! I really think having the binder is something that takes up VERY little space, but is easy to store things in. I do not save andy rinky dink projectes that will not stand up the test of time ~ I have a memory box that is a bit bigger than a box for western boots and that is all she has to put stuff in for elementary school and I have one for middle school and one for high school. Good luck!
