What Baby Monitor Works Without Feedback?

I have some baby monitors and have tried them in the last 3 places we have lived. Each time they give horrible feedback that make them impossible to use. Has anyone found a brand of monitors that works well?

What can I do next?

I love my Sony babycall monitor. It works so well that I set it between the rooms of my two sons with the doors closed and I can still hear them. The only interference I have ever had with it is when the cordless phone is ringing there is a static noise. However it stops immediately when the phone is answered.

I had the same problem with the monitors I had with my daughter. They would constantly pick up my neighbors conversations and wake her up. With my son I got Fisher-Price 900 MHz Digital Private Connection Monitor with Dual Receivers. You can find them at babies r us, walmart, target. I have been using them for a year and have never had a problem with them. They have 10 different channels to increase privacy and reduce interferences and come with rechargeable batteries. I highly recommend this one!!

The Angels Monitor- it's the one that senses movement. There is a pad that you put under the mattress and if it senses no movement for 30 seconds, an alarm will go off (beware, you have to set the senstivity level, and until you get it right, there will be some false alarms- use it first during naptime, so you don't hear this in the middle of the night). Anyway, there is NO feedback- it's great. We had the Grace IMonitor and returned it after getting this one!

I had the same problem. we tried all kinds of monitors. we eventually bought a Graco monitor at Target and never once did we hear weird noises or static. We never picked up on the neighbors cordless phones. That would happen alot with the other monitors. It was years ago that we bought it, but we used it everyday for over 3 years with 2 babies and it still works. when we have company over after the kids go to bed, we shut thier doors and use the monitor. It still works. i would definetly recommend it. Good Luck!

What you are probably exeriencing is interference from some other cordless device, most likely a phone. What you need to do is find a baby monitor with a different frequency than your corless home phone (5.8, 2.4, 900, etc). Unfortuately if you live in an apartment, it could be your neighbor's phone that is causing the static.

I have evenflo ones that I have had little to no problems with. Check if you have a cordless phone - if it is working on the same frequency you'll get more interference. I think the monitor I have is 900 mhz and our phones are 5.8 Ghz.

Hi, I understand that issue. I currently use a basic Graco multi monitor system. Try to plug it in by itselfs. Works in my kitchen! However in our master bedroom, I put a piece of foil in the end of the entena, (just like old tv's in the 70's), and it works. The feedback is cause by other electric devices in your home, we had to ask a professional for advice. He suggested the foil, lol!! I completelly understand your frustration, this is our third set!

Several other people mentioned the Sony BabyCall Monitor, I have been very pleased with that one as well. It has a "voice activated" feature which blocks out some of the regular static so you only hear when a new sound is made, ie. your baby crying, etc. I can still hear her breathing on there if she is congested or something so that makes me feel like I'm not missing any of the noises that me be going on. The other plus is that it has a row of lights to indicate the intesity of the sounds, this useful if I'm going to be outside on the lawn mower or something, no need to turn the monitor up so that the whole neighborhood hears it and I still can't hear because of the mower, just turn the volume down at glance at the lights frequently.

I found a set of Safety First at Once-upon-a-Child for Son & Daughter-in-law. Got a set of 3 monitors & two parent receivers with walkie talkie capability. Very nice set. I priced monitors at target online. Full range of prices. This was a great buy for what was in the set. Reception is good/great. May want to keep an eye at one of these stores.

We've gone through a few monitors too. But the best so far has been Sony babycall. It was $49.99, I think. But so worth it. We now have 2 of them for both our boys. Good luck.

I have had sucess with the Sony Babycall monitor. There is also a voice activated feature so it's basically off until they make a noise! We bought it at Babies R Us. Good luck!
