Hi moms! We are going to AZ for Spring break and I am very excited! Kids are 12 and 14. We are a very outdoors type family and love to travel and see new things. I am looking for any insider tips and things to do and see in AZ. We already have several things planned but are still looking for things to do along the way. We are flying into Tucson and renting a car, driving north to Sedona for a few days, then on to Page for a few days, then driving to Vegas and flying home. In Sedona we are doing a Pink Jeep tour. In Page we have a rafting trip planned. Other than that, we're looking for things to stop and do/see along our drive. Any tips would be appreciated! Food tips are welcome too! Thank you,

So What Happened?

We're going for 10 days.. Traveling pretty much the whole length of the state, from Tucson to Page, then over to Las Vegas to fly home. Our raft trip is near page, it's on the colorado river but goes thru glen canyon, horseshoe bend and yes, already booked. Also on our drive from Page to Las Vegas we're planning on stopping at Zion for a few hours. Sorry, should have mentioned we've been to the grand canyon before, south rim. We might try to see North Rim this time as we drive from Page to Las Vegas. Thank you for your responses!!! Is the Slide Creek, by Slide rock? cause I know we're going there. :)

Arizona is a big state.

How long are you going to be there?

The Grand Canyon.
Sedona
Four Corners
Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend

There's the Devil's Bridge in Sedona - I think - it's been a LONG time since I've been there

Do you have your rafting trip confirmed? If it's down the Grand Canyon - I thought those had to be planned a year in advance. I don't know. Sorry.

I know we have at least one mom here from AZ - I hope she sees this!! I'll send her a message and let her know it's here!

Have fuN!

I agree that you should try to see Superstition Mountains at Lost Dutchman State Park. There is an old gold mining town there that is a lot of fun (Goldfield). They have Ziplining and horseback riding, mine tour and a gun fight in the street as well as other attractions. Kids (9 and 14) loved it!!

My "go to" is always TripAdvisor. No matter how much I've planned/researched, there is always something I discover on this site whether it be a restaurant to try or some roadside attraction that I decide is worth doing/seeing. Have fun! Sounds like a great trip!

Last year we were in Phoenix and spent a day hiking the Superstition Mountains at Lost Dutchman State Park, which was about 45 min east of Phoenix. There are trails at all fitness levels at the park and the mountains are beautiful.

My family had a great time in Sedona. We enjoyed the restaurants and quirky shops, plus driving to and hiking around all the cool rock formations. There is a beautiful catholic church you can look around in, Chapel of the Holy Cross, awesome views and cool architecture. I really liked their gift shop too (but maybe because I'm Catholic). From Sedona we went to the Grand Canyon for a day only and spent the day exploring the South Rim. If you are driving around that whole state you should probably see the Grand Canyon! My kids also spent a lot of time at Slide Creek state park. That was north of Sedona. Its very pretty surroundings and when it is hot you can swim in it. We went in Winter break so it was quite chilly, but still very cool to climb around in.
Have fun!

ETA: Yes, Slide Creek, Slide Rock, whatever it's called!

The grand canyon of course! That could be a whole spring break...there is a lot you can do and see there. We went there one year for spring break and it was amazing.
