We bought an Eddie Bauer and we like it. Its a 5 pt harness then you can take the harness out and use a regular seat belt. I like the fact it wasnt to expensive. I believe we got it at target or walmart. my daughter is 4 and is still in the harness but she will transition to the seat belt here real soon. just waiting until she gains a little more weight. Good luck in what you chose.

We LOVE our Britax Marathon! It is a little big when it is rear-facing if your car is very small. Otherwise I think it is wonderful. It is cozy, sits up high enough for my 2-year-old to see out the window and has plenty of room to grow(front facing up to 80 lbs!) Britax has an amazing safety record and performed well when we had a minor accident (a fender-bender and my son didn't even wake up!) If you can invest in this seat, I think it is well worth the investment!

I love the Britax Roundabout. I know they are so much more expensive, but there really are so many little things about it that I wouldn't have thought about before but now wouldn't want to live without. It's super cozy and fits well rear-facing.

The other seat we have is the Radian 80. It has a longer life span and is another seat with tons of super features, but does cost a bit more. The Radian 80 can be rear-facing. The back is high and it might be difficult to get it correctly reclined unless you have a larger car. It will be your last car seat - it holds them in the harness until 80 pounds. It's also super skinny - only 17 inches wide. We got it for our 3 &4 year olds and along with a Roundabout for my 16 month old, we fit 3 across my wagon.

We bought the Maxi Cosi car seat at Babies R Us and love it. It's super comfortable (or seems to be) and the best part is that it reclines easily. One little lever and my son is reclining in the back seat so that he can nap comfortably. It's great. It's more expensive than the Graco car seats, but was a little cheaper than the Britax. Plus the Maxi Cosi comes in really cool trendy colors.

I also have an Eddie Bauer car seat. We bought it at Target an didn't cost an arm an leg for it. I really like mine especially when she falls asleep, her head isn't bouncing as there are head rest to keep her head on. My only dislike with my seat my lil one was very chubby in the thighs,an the straps not just on hers but alot of carseats are never longer enough between the legs, but as she slimmed down it fit perfect.
