I agree with the others... there is no magic pill. I know of whole food supplements that will help, but no pill will help you lose weight & yet you can still eat anything you want. That is just not logical or healthy.
Eat mainly produce & good proteins. Snack on raw nuts or carrots with peanut butter.
This is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. The weather is getting nicer. Take the kids out for a walk every day. Play outside. Unplug the TV for a week.
Start with one thing for a week, then move on the another thing to master.

Weight Watchers. It is the healthiest way to lose weight. I just had a baby 2 months ago and back to my "normal" weight. I still need to lose 20 more lbs but that has nothing to do with my pregngncy. I also feel that breastfeeding helps.

The healthy way to loose weight is not with a pill. It is to loose 1-2 lbs. a week. Do not think of it as a diet but as a life style change. Try to eat more fruits and veggies. Someone mentioned peanutbutter. Peanutbutter has an awful lot of fat to it I would not eat it when trying to loose weight. I have been doing Weight Watchers since Dec. of 2006. Until Jan. 2008 I had lost over 60 lbs then I stopped nursing my son and started gaining some of the weight back. I try to eat more salads when we go out to eat and just watch box lables to see what a portion size is. I do a lot of measuring and weighing my food at the dinner table. The thing that I like about Weight Watchers is that they try to teach you to eat healthy not just to loose the weight. I will not say exercise because that is my weak point. I need to do a whole lot more exercise and less sitting at the computer.
Just my 2 cents worth.

In order to lose weight in a healthy way, you should not be taking diet pills. I agree with the Weight Watchers comment. I have lost nearly 50 pounds since October. I have a little more to go, but I feel so much better! I have been walking as exercise as well - I shoot for at least three times a week, more if I have (make) time. Weight Watchers is the best plan, with the healthiest approach to weight management out there. Their new plan focuses on staying satisfied and is very helpful! It works when you stick to it (account for everything), even though I still enjoy my ice cream and chocolate! You never have to deny yourself, which appeals to me greatly!

A book I recommend is You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management (by Mehmet C. Oz, M.D. and Michael F. Roizen, M.D.). There is a lot of information given that will help you see why we are overweight (the reasons concerning brain chemicals and biological triggers, etc - very enlightening!) and ways to change it. Hint: High Fructose Corn Syrup is evil liquid!

Hello, J.!

The only thing that I will say is that pills are not going to work long term. I am sorry, but that is the reality of it. Taking a daily vitamin and some flaxseed oil pills help with your overall health during the process. It is a change in lifestyle. Watching portion size, making smarter choices in what you eat and how it is prepared and then adding physical activity to your daily routine. But it is also important not to deprive or punish yourself, you have to learn how to balance it all together to make it work. You celebrate your triumphs and correct your mistakes without berating yourself. We all make them, as we are all human.

You need to find your motivation, set your ultimate goal, (mine is to be healthy and enjoy a long and active life with my daughter, for example), set up lots of smaller goals along the way and realize that it is a process that may take awhile. Someone said it correctly when they said 1 to 2 lbs. a week.

I am in Weight Watchers, which has helped me to do all of this and more. I find support within my group at the weekly meetings and I also have other friends in Weight Watchers, although not in my local group, that I find support from. I also have taken on accountability for my actions. I got myself this way and I am the one who has to fix it. No miracle drugs or surgery.

It helps me have a couple of people (my closest friends) that report in to each week, in addition to my weekly weigh-in. I started my weight loss process a little over 5 months ago and have now lost 30 lbs. I still have around 50 to go to be at my dream weight but I do NOT focus on that. I focus on my closest goals and as I get close to achieving them, I set the next goal. I am doing it a little slower than some, but I feel good and continue to feel better. I know I will achieve my final goal in time. If you would like to read my whole story, if that will help, please feel free to email me at ____@____.com is not a big major story, but it keeps it real.

Good Luck to you! You can DO IT!!!!

The most helpful, effective, and healthy program I have ever found is from the research of Dr. Peter D'Adamo. I would recommend the book, Live Right 4 Your Type. The book will explain which foods your body metabolizes most effectively, as well as how much exercise your body needs. I started eating the right foods for my blood type at the end of December and have not only lost at least 10 pounds, but have also greatly improved my health, including a thyroid disorder and multiple problems from inflamation. I hadn't even begun to get the exercise the book recommends. But, now I feel good enough and I just started exploring which exercise program I am going to begin.

At first it was a bit difficult to change recipes and habits, but after a few weeks, I got the hang of it. I cannot begin to tell you how amazed I was to find how satisified I could feel when I ate the foods on my beneficial list.

There really are no herbs or pills that will help your body function best if you are eating foods your body does not use efficiently. Learning which foods your blood type is able to use well and which foods gum up your engine is as practical as knowing whether to put regular or diesle fuel in your car! The Live Right 4 Your Type book is like getting the owner's manual for your body.

Even if you don't stick to the diet strictly, you will probably begin to improve your body by making sure you get some foods from your beneficial list each day.

I was trying to eat 'healthy' foods and continued to gain weight slowly year after year. This is the first time in more than 10 years that I am actually losing weight. The best part is, I'm just eating the foods I can enjoy while I eat them as well as while I metabolize them. I haven't been trying to lose weight. I started on this diet to improve my thyroid and my inflamatory disorder. The weight loss is just a bonus!

As someone who has probably lost 800# in my life, let me just say that there really are no pills that will help. Taking in less calories than you use up is the only way to healthily lose weight and keep it off. I know that in my head but sometimes the rest of my body is not on the same page. All it takes to succeed is to get up one more time than we fall down- you can get there!

I have lost 31 pounds in 3 months. I've ate 5-6 meals per day. Usually 3 of them are around 200-260 calories. 1 of the meals will be about 300 calories. The remaining 1 or 2 meals will be fruit, watered down juice, yogurt etc. I aimed for around 1400-1500 calories. Sometimes I was as low as 1200 calories and other times as high as 1800 calories. The weight came off steady. Now I've been stuck for a few weeks.

I did it mostly through convenience freezer diet meals. But now it's time to go back to cooking and eating normally. In interest of saving a lot of money, I stocked up today on tiny little containers so that I can pre-portion and I bought some pretty "little" plates so that I'll eat the same amount I have been on my diet.

I would save my money if I were you, when it comes to investing in weight loss "aids". The only "Aid" we need is to take in less calories than we burn!!! I have struggled with my weight for the past few years, and finally succeeded in losing about 50 lbs (unfortunately most of it has crept back on). You just need to follow a good healthy, balanced diet, and start adding exercise to your daily routine. I used SparkPeople.com for about 2 years and they are wonderful!! There is a place to track your food intake, exercise, and there are all sorts of forums that you can join, literally hundreds of them with every purpose that you can imagine, from stay at home moms to diabetics, Christian Women, local groups so you can find someone in your area to be an exercise buddy. They also have recipes, exercise tips, just anything that you might need on this "journey".
Most of the diet aids, are just make money fast schemes for the people that are selling them, the only way to lose weight ( and keep it off, which is hard, I can tell you!!!) is to develop a healthy lifestyle and stick with it.
Good luck...you can do it!!!

I honestly dont think there is a pill out there that is going to work or is healthy. I will admit back when I was like 18-19 I took diet pills with ephedra in it, I went from 125 lbs to 103 lbs in like a month. But the only thing that worked was the ephedra, which is now banned for being very unsafe. I have tried diet pills without it and Im telling you, they dont work, and hoping I can save you some money buy not buying it.
I just had my 2nd baby and maybe last child, so I am getting pretty serious about losing weight. I started weight watchers and have lost 11 lbs in about 2 months. I do cheat too. My PMS is crazy and I cannot control myself. But with weight watchers, you have some room to cheat. For some reason I think its so much easier than counting calories, and its kinda fun (I think).
I have learned a lot about food from it. I had NO clue how much of an enemey mac n cheese is! Stay away from it! You learn a lot about food and what to stay away from.
Lucky for me, my friend gave me all her old weight watchers stuff, because she has new material now. So I didnt have to pay for it. But if I had extra money right now I would join because I could probably do even better if I did.
My friend went from 170+ lbs to about 130 lbs on weight watchers. Anyways here are a couple websites that might help.

Hi J.,

My sister lost over 100 lbs naturally. She had heart problems etc. because of her weight. She tried so many things but then came across a program that was natural and worked. It was a steady weight loss. Our family is all on it now because of her success. Me too. I can say it is easy and works. You have energy etc. She can explain more about it. She has become a mentor to many that want to lose weight. Her name is Nancy Rice. Her email is ____@____.com and her number is ###-###-####. She is not a pushy person and I think you'll like what you hear from her.

Good luck,

Hi J.,
You can find herbal supplies for weight loss, and most other needs at Herbal Healer. http://www.herbalhealer.com/ This is a private member organization. You must be a member to order, but it is free. Marijah McCain is an ND, based in Mountain View, AR. I have been a member for almost 10 years. She sends out newsletters and post cards with specials periodically. She only buys top quality, potent herbs to make their products with. You can find newsletter archives, and important information, customer testimonies, and more on their web site. They also sell other top quality brands of natural medicine besides their own HHA brands. I highly recommend Herbal Healer Acadamy for quality products, and natural medicine courses for education to become a certified ND.
God bless, K.

Only healthy way to lose weight is cut out junkfood (have it once a week) and burn more calories than you take in. Should never rely on pills to help you lose weight, pills dont make u lose weight anyway, you still have to exercise and eat right while still doing any form of weight loss regimen.

I have been taking the Phenocal, once in the morning and once mid-afternoon. I started taking them about a week ago. No side effects. I don't feel hungry and I do not get any jitters, but I am experiencing more energy. I am also able to stop eating after 8:30 p.m. Yesterday, I have noticed that my jeans are feeling a little bit looser. I try not to weigh myself everyday, only once a week at the same time. I will let everyone know how I am doing next week. So far, I feel great and am not experiencing any discomfort whatsoever. get the details on its official website: http://www.phenocal.com/

Hope this helps, since I myself was skeptical at the beginning. Take care!

I am a heart patient now with a pacemaker. I had a heart attack and another on the table while they were putting a stint in. I was so afraid to exercise afterwards that I did nothing but sit in my recliner chair. My cardiologist was constantly on me because I was constantly gaining weight. I tried many diets but either they were unhealthy or somehow I managed to gain weight. Then I found an all natural diet and 1 year later I have lost 106lbs. My cardiologist is finally happy with me, I don't even dread my appointments. If you want more information contact me at ____@____.com
