yeah, definitely go to vrbo.com. Great suggestion by the other mom. Somewhere on Lake Travis, Lake Austin would be good. You could also check out the Cliffs at Possum Kingdom. We love that lake.

P.S. I am feeling the itch for a getaway too! It must be in the water here! lol

Granbury, TX. Tons of B&Bs, cute little town, lots to do around the area. Fossil Rim is only about 1/2 hour away. Enjoy your escape!

If you want don't want to go too far, there is a B&B (only one in town) in Grapevine. It's walking distance to the old touristy downtown area with lots of shops & restraunts. My husband & I went last summer for a "staycation" and loved it! The owner was super nice, the rooms were very nice & the breakfast was great! We went in & out of the little shops, drove over to South Lake to the movies, went to the wine bars for tastings . . . it was a great close getaway! I loved not having to drive far & still getting the feeling of being away. We've been to Fredricksburg, Glen Rose, Gruene, & lots of other little towns around texas & enjoy every trip! It's nice that a fun place is so close to home!

Depends on what you want to do. Glen Rose, TX is close to home and has quite a few lodging options. The Lodge at Fossil Rim or Hideaway Ranch.
