Weekend Get Away!

My husband and I are looking to get away for a weekend and I would love some ideas of places to go/things to do! We live in Denton TX and wouldn't mind driving as far as San Antonio. We have a 13 month old and just need a night or two away, just the two of us. Honestly, I just want to have someone wait on me (for once!) while I drink wine! Any ideas? Romance is great. We aren't too much into the Bed and Breakfast thing...

What can I do next?

How about the Gaylord? THey have a great spa and other things to do and if you want to revisit your "college days" the Glass Cactus is great for nightlife and they offer a shuttle to/from the hotel and a Shuttle service to Main St Grapevine if you want to tour a winery or two. I also hear that Horseshoe Bay is very nice. It is around Austin.

I have been to a couple places in the Austin and San Antonio area that I thought were nice. I am into spa services, good food, and fun things in the area to do.

http://www.horseshoebaymarriott.com/ - there are nearby vineyards that we visited and the weekend we went there was a wine festival in a local town.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort And Spa - great spa, bikes available, etc. http://hillcountry.hyatt.com

Barton Creek - we had more of a work retreat here but they had great spa services. http://www.bartoncreek.com/

Hope that helps!

You should try the Rough Creek Lodge in Glen Rose, TX. My husband and I went for a weekend getaway and were pampered, had wonderful meals and came home completely refreshed.

I love San Antonio myself. We stayed at the Emily Morgan hotel one time, and it was very nice and romantic. It was also very close to the Riverwalk -we just walked to it to go eat and stroll around.

Also, Austin is such a neat town. Lots of eclectic restaurants and bars, though I haven't really done a romantic weekend there -but I am sure there are some good places there too.

Hope you have a great time! I have a 15 month old, and I know how important getting a night or two away can be!
