Bridal bingo is fun. You make sheet with blank bingo squares for each guest, they write a gift in each square. as the bride opens the gifts, the guests mark off the squares, when they get 5 in a row, they yell bingo. I also did a word scramble for mine, you can find a bunch on the internet if you search for free wedding shower games.

The WEB is a great place to start just google free wedding shower games and you will get oh SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many to choose from. That way you can fit everybody into a game. Foe instance a handicapped individual or some one who normally does not play the games could help you with setting them up.

Bingo is always an easy game. Have everyone fill in the squares with gifts they think she'll get, then they mark them off as she opens her gifts. There are always a bunch of winners, so make sure you have alot of little gifts (check the clearance areas - I got alot from JoAnn Fabrics - planters, candles, etc.) I made my own sheet, if you want a copy let me know and I can email it to you.

Another thing you can do is "who knows the bride/couple
best?" Come up with a list of questions, have the bride or couple give you the answers, and have everyone write down their answers. Whoever has the most correct wins.

I looked online for ideas for my step-daughter's shower.
good luck!

Hi L.,

I love shower games. You could do the purse game...List about 20 items that should be in a woman's purse. The person that gets the most items and can show them will be the winner. Scramble game, scramble about 20 words that related to a wedding, then give the guest few mintues to unscramble them. About the Bride is another good game...ask about 10 questions about the bride. Whomever gets the mosts right is the winner...if there is a tie, then they both will get gifts or whatever you have to give.

Hope this helps.

One of my favorites is going to your local newspaper anniversary listings. Clip out each of the couples wedding and anniversary pics. Put the wedding pic taped to the outside of an envelope then on the inside put the correct anniversary pic plus a few others. We typically do 15-20 of them. Each person has to match the wedding pic to the correct anniversary pic. Have fun!

my friend is getting married and we just had her shower, we kept the games short . we played "how well do you know the bride and groom" i came up with some question about them like how they met, birthdays, how he proposed, ect. it was pretty funny to see everyone with different answers. the other game we played was bingo, when she opened gifts we had bingo cards and marked off the gifts we thought she might get, it made watching her open gifts not so long and boring.

A fun one we played at my cousins bridal shower was a questionnaire game. There was a list of questions that the hostess had asked the groom about the bride. they varied from "what kind of underwear does she wear....thongs, granny panties, etc.?" to "What was the first movie you saw together?" the bride didn't know that the hostess had even talked to the groom. The bride had to answer the questions herself, out loud at the shower, to see how many the groom got right. The guests had to predict how many of the questions the groom would get right before the bride answered them. The closest estimator won a prize.I thought it was fun and I learned some new things about my cousin.

I've also seen them hand out a bingo sheet to fill in. People had to fill in all the boxes with the names of the gifts they think she would be receiving at the shower. Then they could put a bingo chip on the square if she got that for a gift. If there was no bingo, just whoever had the most right.

They also did the "Guess the spice game" by look and smell. It is really hard.

Have fun.

Hi L.-
One simple game that we love to play on 'unsuspecting shower recipients' is this:
While the bride is opening gifts, have someone write down several comments that she makes while opening the gifts. Stuff like "This is beautiful"..."Wow!"....I never had one of these before....etc....

Then, after the gifts are completed, you read back the quotes and explain that this will be similar to the dialogue in the bedroom on the wedding night! Always a crowd pleasure and makes everyone giggle.

It's not really a game, but more of an entertainment for the group--easy and funny.
Good luck!

It sounds like you've already gotten a lot of good suggestions. I always like the purse game. It's a nice ice breaker at the beginning of the shower, because it gets people talking to the people around them. You get more points for "unusual" things that are in your purse.

I would also suggest that you skip the bridal bingo. It's a fine game, but in my opinion (and judging from how many people recommended it) it's really popular and getting kind of overused. If your shower guests don't go to showers much, you could get away with the bingo, but there are so many other good games out there.

Here's 2 variations of a fun shower game:

Couples: Approach couples who've been married various lengths of time, separate them, and ask a series of questions (could even be pre-printed with answer spaces). There will be one set of questions for all the women to answer and another, different, set of questions for all the men to answer. Ask fun things like: What is your husband's favorite food? Where did you go on your first date? What was the first thing your hubby noticed about you? Who is your wife's favorite band? When is your anniversary? What is your wife's idea of a perfect date (or vacation or getaway)? Etc. Everyone writes down their answers and labels them with their name. Collect & tell everyone to keep everything confidential. Later, set up one chair for each couple. The women sit first while the men stand behind with their answers. Ask the women the 1st question the men were asked. Go down the line of chairs one at a time. Chair one gives her answer, then compare to her husband's answer. Go to chair two, repeat. After all contestants answer each question, switch. Now the men sit while the women stand behind. Ask them the questions the women answered in the same fashion as before. It was just like the Newly Wed Game. It was a blast.

Female Only: Selecting women who've known the bride for various lengths of time (mom, sister, grandma, cousin, best friend, life-long neighbor, co-worker, college friend, etc). Ask them questions about the bride and compare their answers to the bride's answers.

Female Only #2: Create a set of questions and have the bride answer them before the shower. (Don't ask questions specifically about the bride and her courtship/relationship because those closest to her will know all the answers while others are left in the dark. Not so fun.) Give a printout of the questions to each guest to answer accoring to her own courtship/relationship (NOT guessing about the bride's). After everyone answers all questions, have the bride give her answers. Each time a guest's answer matches the bride's, she gets a point. See who gets the most points.

At the last wedding shower I was at we were all given a sheet of paper and a pen and asked write our best advice about being married. Considering that most of us there had been married 10+ years, a couple of the older aunts had been married almost 50 years, there was a lot of experience in that room! Someone came around and collected them and then she shuffled them up and the bride closed her eyes and drew one. That person was the winner and got the prize. The papers were then set aside for the bride-to-be to read at her leisure. They also told us before hand that the responses would be kept fairly private. They also asked us to sign our names to the advice. I think the bride was planning on making them into some kind of scrapbook. I thought it was a really neat activity.

When I planned my sisters wedding shower, it was a relatively small affair (I think 20 people) and one game that was incredibly fun was a point system for what you had in your purse. Basically you set up a list of things you may find and place a point value on that item
For example 1 point for each receipt, 2 points for change, 5 points for a hairbrush or comb, 1 point per key, 1 point per drivers license or credit card, 50 points for a condom, etc. etc. I think one reason it was so funny for us was the fact that the pastors wife was present...and she won!

A very simple game is to set a kitchen timer while the bride is opening her gifts. (4-5mins if you want to keep it fast) When the timer sounds, who ever gave the gift that is currently being opened gets a prize. I just attended a shower where this was done and everyone seemed to have fun with it.

One of the games we played at my sister's wedding last year was one where the guests try to figure out what different spices are. You put different spices in small jars, you will need about 10 different spices.......make sure that the spices you choose look similar......(ex. oregano, parsley, basil; I also used spices like garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and found other spices similar to those). You put each spice in a different small plain jar.......noting written on the jar but a number. You keep track of the different spices by their numbers. On a sheet of paper you write down what spice each numbered jar is. That is the answer sheet, and just for the host to know. You pass out blank sheets to each guest, numbered 1-10. You can make 2 sets of these jars and the guests can pass them around the room til they get down all the spices. The thing is the guests can only look at the jars to figure out what the spice is, they can NOT open them and smell or taste them.

Then after everyone is done, whoever got the most answers right per table wins a prize.
After the game is over, collect all the spices from the tables and save them for the bride and groom.......they ends up being another little gift for them when they start their new life together.
The guests have fun, and It is fun watching them all trying to figure out what each jar is.

Hope this helps..........good luck!!!
