Hi, I need help. Today is my husband and my 3 year wedding anniversary. We have promised not to spend any money on anything for eachother, but we are going to a nice dinner tonight. My question is...is there any ideas anybody has that I can do "without spending a dime" to make today a special day, to separate it from just an ordinary day. I am planning on baking a dessert..but I just would like to do something else...something simple, but to let him know I love him.
Please send me any and all ideas you may have. I really appreciate it.

What can I do next?

Congrats! Well theres on I want to try, but havent been together long enough with N-E-One to try it, lol (:

Every silly, happy perfect moment you can recall over the past three years and I mean the most funny or perfect ones write them on little pices of paper like little foutunes in a cookie and put them all in a jar with a lid. he can pic a couple from the jar at dinner but he can also pick them out of the jar days after so he can recall the good times you have shared even after a hard day at work or after an agument about finances (:

Well, if you have a wedding video you can watch that together - snuggled on the couch. Or you can dance - slow dance- together before or after you eat. Maybe make a homemade card saying how/why you love him. And maybe offer in the card to give him a massage or lots of kisses or something fun and simple like that!

Have fun!

Hi K.,

Happy Anniversary! How about making your husband a collage? Just go through magazines and cut out romantic words and pics and make a collage and find a frame you're not using and stick that baby in there. I've made bigger ones and put it on a canvas (about $5), that way you don't have to frame it. Good luck!

This is kind of easy if you know how to do it. Make a CD with lots of love songs including the one you shared your first dance to at your wedding. Or for Valentine's Day, I made my husband a scrapbook of our first few years together. I'm not a scrapbooky person, but I just bought a few things to put in it and it was fun!

This may sound so silly but it worked and I only spent a couple dollars. Many years ago, my then fiance' and I could not afford to spend anything on eachother for christmas. So, like you, we promised not to spend any money....I worked at a crafts store and had a friend make me a sash (the kind the beauty queens wear) out of ribbon. I spent the night under the christmas tree wrapped in my bow with nothin else, this is where he found me in the morning!!!! He still says this was his best gift ever!! And we will be celebrating our 23rd Anniversary at the end of this month!!! Maybe you could do somethin like that and serve him some of the dessert your'e making?....A lil kinky but I have been married a long time and have raised 3 kids..I would do anything to make my man happy!Good Luck and Congrats...Wishing you many more happy years!!

How often we forget how far an "I love you" or a really wonderful kiss can go! On days I remind myself to be the wife my husband deserves (not often enough!) I tell my hubby that I appreciate what he does; I thank him for working hard; I put my hands on his neck or face when I kiss him; I tell him how much I love him. All these things mean the world to him and make my life better - when he's happy, he does more for me!
I listen to Dr Laura (who I can't stand most of the time) and I found this to be the biggest take away from her - REMIND YOUR HUSBAND WHY HE FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU! The best part is that it NEVER costs a dime, but the payback is great.
As far as for your anniversary, I once took 3x5 cards and wrote things I would do (or would let my hubby do to me) and we spent the evening having fun with each other. Granted, this was mostly sexual, but I am sure it can extend to whatever is appropriate for your relationship. A backrub? A long make out session? Letting the other have the remote for an hour?
I hope you have a great and inexpensive night!

Congratulations on your anniversary K.! What you can do is make up postcards with special memories on each, for each month you've been married. For instance the first one can be for the day you married him & you can maybe put your vows on it. Then go to the next month and note a special event or memory & do so for each consectutive month. This will remind you & him of each month you've been together & show him how much your love for him has grown! I did one for my honey on his 43rd b-day. I filled a plain paper-mache box that I got for cheap at Michaels. I painted it & cut out letters from newspapers & magazines to spell out & glued it on top. It read "43 reasons why I love you" & inside there were 43 postcards - each with a reason on it. You can also do that but it call it "36 reasons I love you" - for the 36 months you've been together. On the inside lid of the box I glued pictures of us together & put more newspaper/magazine cut out letters/words to spell out "the perfect couple" & "made for each other". It was a true gift from my heart. Let me know if you use this idea & how it worked out!!

Hi K.,

For our last anniversary, I did a strip tease for my husband. Now, I am normally very shy, but I knew he would appreciate the effort even more because of that. I practiced when I was alone & planned the music, my outfit, & the lighting & surprised my husband with his own private show in the bedroom with the door locked after the kids were in bed. I was embarrassed, but he thought it was the greatest gift ever.

You can print out "Coupons" that he can redeem at any time over the next year. They can include things like: "Boys Night Out" so he can go out with the guys, "Tee for Two" as in golf tee (if he likes golf), "No 'I Told You So' Aloud” for when he know you were right, you can’t say it “Out Loud”, “Off Doo-dy” so that he doesn’t have to do the diaper “doo-dy” for the night, and (what I’m sure will be his favorite) “Code 038-2-09-537” which is best printed in Clock style font (turned upside down says “LES-GO-2-BED”. You can Print it in color, add Clip Art, and then cut them to the same size. Then staple them together like a real coupon book. Add any others you can think of that he’d like, or Laugh at! Hope it helps! -J

Hi K. ~ Happy Anniversary! I hope you and your husband have a wonderful day. These are two of my favorite ideas: You can take your time today and write him a love letter and leave it on his pillow or put it in his lunch bag or brief case or pants pocket, you get the idea. The other is you can make him coupons and put them in an evenlope or a gift box. You know like "Good for one back rub"; Good for a day of watching whatever sport he likes, without interruption, you can be very creative in other areas a well, but both of these ideas are very successful in my home/marriage. Good luck and have a great day.

you could make him a home made card, and write a personal note inside to tell him how you feel, decorating the card anyway you choose, or with what ever you have already at home.

If you can get a babysitter for the night. I think you have one since you are going to dinner maybe you can ask them to watch them either overnight or later than ususal. Then you and your husband, after dinner, can sit on the couch and watch a movie or listen to music or talk. Just to have some time for you and him on your special day. I hope this helps. and Happy Anniversary.

On my 5th Annv, I surprised my husband with candles lit, music playing & me in my wedding dress! It was really fun to get dolled up & surprise him again. We danced to "our song" things led to a strip tease in the dress & followed by a candle lit bubble bath.
Guys actually love the romantic gestures in a relationship, so don't be afraid to get all mushy! Have a great anniversary! And remember to feed him your dessert with your fingers only!

Hi K.,

Happy Anniversary. This idea may be a bit corny, but I love it. Make a What I love about you book. Get a spiral notebook and decorate the cover with hearts, etc and title it "What I love about you". Start the first chapter with the five W's of the first time you met, When it was, where you were, who was there, why you both were there, and what he was doing when you met. The n go from there..My first thought was......The thing that attracted me to you....etc. Make your book with things that have covered your time together. What you were thinking the first time he said I love you, what you admire most about him, what good things he brings out in you, etc. My husband has been doing this over the last 2 years and the book still isn't finished. It's great to go back and read all of the things he's said about me, I've actually learned alot about myself. Good luck and again, Happy Anniversary.

Cut a heart shape into the bread in the morning before you toast it...

Write a note on a napkin in his lunch....

Wake him up gently an hour early for a nice long kiss and cuddle....

Give him an extra long hug good-bye -

Call him at 3pm and tell him you just wanted to hear his voice....

If you are close enough to his work and can get a sitter - show up there for lunch dressed up the way he likes...

Happy Anniversary....

hello K.,
I do understand that, if someone is going to watch your children for the night maybe they can watch them for the whole night to give you and your husband sometime to yourselves. Do a nice hot bath with each other by candle light and if you don't fit just try a shower with enough candles to set the mood. And just wash each other. From there take it to the room. You can massage each other after woods to relax each other. This could led to making love or not but at least you both are bonding. And if you don't feel comfortable leaving the kids with that person for the night then see if that person could take them alittle early than usual and set it as an early event. At least you don't spend the money BUT you both spend some needed time with each other. Add some music to it as well. I hope I have given you some ideas. Happy Anniversary to u both!
