Ways to Clean Carseat

My little girl was given breakfast too soon before needing to go for a ride in the car and unfortunately threw up all over her car seat. Outside of cleaning it off, what do you use to clean the fabric? I have a carseat made out of "back pack" material. Do I use soap and water, or do I need to use a disinfectant?

What can I do next?

I agree with the majority of the posters on here, I always took my daughters carseat cover off and washed it. One thing that did help was to pretreat it with some type of stain remover, I always let it soak in for about an hour before washing it. Good luck!

Usually the car seat covers are removable and can be put into the wash. You may have to reassemble the straps but that's not difficult at all.

Hi T.,
You should be able to take the cover off the base and put it in the washer. My sons comes off real easy then just wash it like normal.

Soap and water prob won't take out the smell. But I use a fabric cleaner I have that works wonders on everything. Ive used it for clothes and my furniture and carpet. I don't know the name on it b/c my husband bought it and when u take the wrapper off the name comes off but it comes in something that has 2 cylinders connected and its a spray...some kind of double cleaner but it works great for stains and it takes the smell out of just about anything. I will ask my husband the name of it and repost it later.

I usually just take the cover off and stick it in the washer.

I usually put my sons in the washer alone with a tiny bit of bleach thats safe for colors and regular detergent. Then either line dry or if i'm in a hurry I throw it in the dryer and check on it every 5 to 10 minutes.
