I'm just starting to look for a new washer and dryer. Does anyone have a kind that they just love? Features you like, etc?

What can I do next?

Don't exactly have a favorite but we recently bought a front loader and it has the controls in the front. I work right in front of the washer sometimes and the buttons get pushed by me pushing against them to reach or something. Just would prefer the controls to be on the back panel or top somewhere, so they would be more out of the way. Just a thought for you.

We bought our LG Super Capacity, front loaders with dryer sense over a year ago and LOVE them. There are a TON of different settings you can use, including a tub clean on the washer as well as a sanitary setting. The dryer will shut off if it senses that the clothes are dry, instead of continuing to run just on time. It will also shut off if there is a clog in the lint trap to avoid fires. I can fit a CRAZY amount of clothes in there and it does just as good a job on the large loads as the small ones. I can even fit our kind sized down comforter, and it comes out clean, which I used to pay up to $50 to have cleaned at the dry cleaners. It's high efficiency so uses very little water and very little detergent. LOVE IT!

Whirlpool Elite... Love them.. large capacity, sanitary option, which is awesome for bed wet accidents. Extra rinse cycle, the list goes on, check them out online, we love ours. Reduced our laundry by half and we have 4 kids.

I love my Kenmore Elite HE3. It is huge - can wash a lot in a load (king size comforter), which is nice with kids and limited tme. It also gets clothes cleaner I think.

I love my Samsung front loader washer. We originally bought the whirlpool that is SOO recommended, but had issues. After they basically rebuilt the thing in our garage, and it still wasn't fixed, we got Whirlpool to take it back and got the Samsung instead. I didn't have luck with my LG dishwasher, so we avoided LG, but our Samsung fridge and washer have been great. I do cloth diapers, so it gets a workout, hopefully we can afford the dryer soon.

I don't have the LG Washer and Dryer, and it sure sounds nice, but I just checked online, and there seems to be a lot of people who have had problems with it(at the rubber part at the bottom?). I really have no idea though...
I like our whirlpool, but definitely wish I had the largest size.

I just bought a washer last week because ours finally died. I bought the above washer also and it is WONDERFUL!!! I went to Sears and the guy said the only way to go is LG. They don't use belts and have a longer life span. I actually bought it from Home Depot because Sears didn't have it in stock and I needed one that day. Home Depot wasn't nearly as helpful as Sears though. We didn't buy the dryer because our old one works just fine. I bought white so that I would eventually buy the matching LG dryer.

I have and love my front-loaders. I have the Kenmore Elite HE5T series which has the steam options on both the washer and dryer in white. It does take some getting use to especially when you don't see that much water and you are still trying to figure out how in the world your clothes will get clean with the amount that is dispensed. I really love them now. Especially the delayed start feature and the sanitize cycle. They are more expensive but worth the extra bucks. Although adding the two pedestals to your purchase increases the already high price, I would still have to recommend them as it does make it a lot easier...No bending since they place the door right around waist level. Good luck!

I have the Maytag front loader. It also does not have a belt. But to get it you have to get the high end model, that has the Sanitary cycle. I love this cycle and use it for my blankets and towels! It is a super capacity and I can fit my King size homemade quilts in them and they wash great. My dyer matches in capacity and dries very well. The sensor works great (though I have to dry the quilts twice to get them completely dry). Maytag's are one of the last machines not built in China and my husband and I have a problem buying things from China, so if we can help it we buy things made from anywhere else, but we prefer USA made products...then we go from there on who we support ending with China last on the list!

i like my Admiral heavy duty - super capacity plus - interior light - 5 cycles (that's what it says on the top) dryer. i like the shoe drying rack. it has come in handy many times when my husband has come home with wet boots that he needed to wear the next morning, or just when it rains too much to put the kids' shoes out in the sun to dry. i also like that my kids weren't able to open the door until they were 3 or 4, a helpful age, rather than like 2 when they get into everything. maybe every dryer has a door that tight, i don't know. :)

I LOVE my LG steam washer. I got this from the website for you

LG WM2487HWMA Washers
Front Load SteamWasher with 9 Washing Programs

Our revolutionary front-load SteamWasher™ washing machine lets you kiss wrinkles goodbye–along with 95% of pet dander, dust mites, and other common allergens. What’s more, the unique LG steam generator penetrates fabrics, for enhanced cleaning performance. (Capacity: 4.2 cu. ft.)

I love it because we have lots of allergies in our family and we can eliminate so many of those with our wash settings now. I love the steam fresh for when we let the clothes sit in the dryer too long and t-shirts are wrinkly (I hate that) also I throw my skirts in to freshen them up.
I got the 4.2 ft capacity and I love that I can do a large load of towels-- :)
I don't have the dryer yet, we were being cost effective and I figured by the end of this year my dryer would need replacing...well I think I added 5 yrs to my dryer since the spin is so great on the washer that the clothes are already mostly dry when I put them in the dryer! I really want my set to match (I know...I know...silly, but still...) so I will probably get the Dryer at the beginning of next year anyway--I've been really happy with it. I have had mine for 4 months now.

I love my front load washer and dryer set from Whirlpool. I've had them for at least 3 years and they perform just as well as they told us they would at Best Buy. I recommend getting the platforms - they give you storage space and they make it so much easier to load and unload, avoiding back strain, too. I use less energy for the dryer because the clothes are mostly damp out of the washer. Favorite features: Time delay (don't recommend w/liquid detergent, though), delicates cycle, bulky items (great for bedspread/blanket washing).
