Wanting to Go Back to Church

Hey everyone
I'm really wanting to get involved with a church. I'm Baptist/Christian (I can do either a non-demoninational church or a baptist church). I have a 2 yr old little girl that will be going with me. I'm worried about putting her into daycare at church. I am a full time working mom so she's in daycare during the week, I feel so guilty about putting her in daycare again during the weekends.
Can any of you recommend your church and what kind of benefits your children get from the daycare setting there?

What can I do next?

Hi W.. I wanted to tell you about the church Me and my family attend. The name of it is Calvary Christian Fellowship and is located on Northpark here in Kingwood. It's a non-denom. Christian church and we all love it!! The kids love going to their classes and they have really wonderful studies for pretty much every age. It's a very open and casual church. If you'd like, go onto their website at: www.ccfh.net and good luck..

Hello Whitnew M.,

I attend Lakewood Church. The childrens ministry is wonderful. I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson that loves the childrens ministry there. They are wonderful with the children. I would love to have you visit the church. If you are interested in visiting, just let me know. I will be happy to assist you in getting your child registered and touring you around the facility. Lakewood is non-denominational and I think you would like it. Have you ever visited before?

We attend Spring Baptist Church in Spring, North of town. We love love LOVE our church, mainly because of its love for children. I have 2 boys, 2 1/2 and 9 and they love going. My 2 year old wants to go to church and friends everyday. For me the benefit of the child care while you are in church, the difference from the normal weekly day care, is that these people are volunteering to be there, and they are there to teach your child abou the love of Christ. The workers at our church are amazing in this way. They truely LOVE the kids and the kids can tell. These are not people who are there for a paycheck, who come sick, who may or may not be qualified. These are moms, dads, and grandmothers who are there because they want to be.

But to me the thing you have to think about is what your daughter is learning from you right now. This is the age where they mimic and watch you constantly to see what is important and normal. If you take her to church and show her that is important, if she sees you reading your bible or working on bible study homework, if you listen to praise music in the car with her, and show her that God is important in your life then she will know that this is a normal part of life. Later in her life it may not be as easy to integrate.

Also I thought I should mention, my church also has AWANAs and preschool chior starting at age 3 and the kids love it. VBS is held every summer for those going into kindergarten to leaving 5th grade, and they do it up right, it is an awesome week. Once the kids are in 3rd grade there is a camp in the summer that I have heard is a lot of fun, we will go our first time next year. There are fall festivals at Halloween, Round Up Sunday with all kinds of fun things for the kids in February, and many other special days through the year.

I hope some of this helps. Good luck.

I don't know where you live, but if you live in the Spring Area, Try Spring Baptist Church...They have two campuses.
The main campus has a daycare, but allow children in the church.

I attend the Klein campus, it is much smaller and intimate. I like it. Church is only one hour long, you get the message and go.

Hey W.,

I don't know where you're located, but I would recommend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is of course Christian, thus the name and has excellent programs for children of all ages. The nursery (ages 18 months to 2 years) does christian based lessons, has song time, activity time and free play. Then after she turns three she would go to Primary, where the children are more structured with classes they go to. It is very child friendly and both of my children LOVE to go. It is very family oriented. If you would like to go check out www.lds.org. There is tons of information about beliefs and everything. If you decide to check it out you can find a meeting house by clicking on "About the Church" and then selecting "meetinghouse locator." Also don't hesitate to ask me any questions :) Good luck.

Hi W., I got to a wonderful church on FM 1314. Its called Caney Creek Apostolic Tabernacle. The people are so, so loving and best of all they think my kids are so cute and sweet even when I think they are little devils...lol. We have a nursery where you can take your child if he or she is upset, but my church encourages us to bring the kiddos in with us. It teaches them as well as us to listen to the word. My daughter is probably louder than the preacher sometimes. I hope you can visit!
