My daughter is ALMOST walking on her own! She recently grew out of her pedipeds-wondering if anyone recommends a brand of shoes for toddlers when they start walking! Thank you!

Barefoot is great (they use their toes) but when out and about we always wore Robeez or something similar. Stride Rite makes some good first shoes too. Worth the money, you don't want her feet to be uncomfortable or do anything to impede her trying to walk.
Have fun!

Yes, as Michelle S. said, let her walk barefoot in the house.

BUT, "Robeez" are real great... that is what so many Moms use, when my kids were babies and at that phase of walking. Our Pediatrician also recommended that... a "soft" shoe... not a hard soled/sided shoe to begin with. Their feet have to still develop and grow too, and them getting used to walking and "feeling" the ground, which hard soled shoes do not allow for.
Both my kids grew up in Robeez, until when they were about 2 years old. We used it outdoors, rain or shine. And you can even "wash" Robeez, by putting it in a lingerie bag in the wash and hang to dry... or spot clean. That's what I did. And indoors, here where I live, everyone is barefoot, sans shoes.

There is also the brand "See Kai Run"... which is similar ...but have stiffer soles. Maybe for when she is older.

And yes, as Riley said, StrideRite is also a great shoe, for toddlers.

If you go to: www.amazon.com you can see the "reviews" there of all 3 brands.

All the best,
Susan

Hi T.,

My sister loves the Robeez! She has a two year old, very active son, and that is what he wears. My youngest is seven so I don't remember what she wore beside stride rite. Robeez seem to be the new thing.

StrideRite!!!

They bend in all 4 directions (like toddler feet), come in wide/extra wide, and promote really healthy foot/joint/leg growth & support.

my daughter was always barefoot in the house babies need to be able to feel the floor with their feet. shoes wise get a shoe with a bendable sole. you can get harder soled shoes when shes a better walker.
