OK here is the deal I am looking for something part time or spare time that I can to do bring in some extra money into our household budget. I am currently a SAHM of 3 girls and really want to be home for them (Middle school & Elem school). I am not interested in anything that I have to put out alot of money for upfront (if I had it I wouldn't need to be looking for something KWIM) (sorry if that sounded rude)
My husband's work schedule changes week to week due to the type of work and the position that he is in and I like to have the flexibility on the weekends to spend with the family

Thank you for all the suggestions, I have done Mary Kay in the past and it just wasn't for me. I did forget to mention that we care blessed in the fact that we don't NEED the money to make ends meet, I was looking more for something to build our nest egg and have some extras to do things with and have the security of a cushion, KWIM. Anyway, most of the moms in our area are SAHM &/or kids are in school so unfortunately many of the ideas just are not going to work for me, but maybe for others who read these they will be a perfect fit so THANK YOU for the suggestions.
I work for a company called Glitzyglo Metals & Gems. I do in home gold buying parties like you see advertised on TV. I did not have to put any money up front and I make money! I watch a couple of children in my home and love it! I only work Monday through Friday and all my daycare kids leave by 4:00. My kids are off the bus at 4:00. It has been working out great! At times it is hard to find business, but so nice to be home for my kids!!

You do have to pay to join, it's 19.95 a month but you can have a free trial to see what it's about. I love this program, Amy, the owner, walks you through what you need to do step by step. You don't need any knowledge about blogging or websites to get started. Also, what is great about this program is that you know it works because it is something that she actually does herself. She started 2 years ago and now she makes $5,000 a month from her blogs. Lot's of other people also make a full time income following the steps in her program.
Also, check out KGB or ChaCha.com. Neither will give you a full time income, but it can help supplement your income. These are great because it requires no phone work and you can set your own schedule up.
Check out www.TreasureTrooper.com/minella I made 58$ last month and I did about an hour ever week night while I was watching TV. It's free to do and it's a very easy way to make extra money. I think of it as a hobby that makes me money.
If you have Facebook, check out http://cloudcrowd.com/i/65abd6 They offer tasks for you to do. I've heard it's very easy. I don't have any personal experience with it yet, but I am starting it today. But I have heard good things about it.
There is also Amazon Mturk. It's where you get paid to do simple tasks. It's a great way to earn extra money. If you like to look for products online or help other people find good deals on items, check out IMShopping, you can get money for answering peoples questions.
There are also at home call center jobs, such as West at Home and Live Ops.
Check out userlytics or usertesting to make money testing websites. They both pay 10 dollars per test and take about 10 minutes to complete. I signed up with both, but have only done a test with Userlytics. It was very easy and they paid the next day.

i work for a place called West At Home. I checked their BBB and they had good rating. All that is required for you to have is internet (like broadband or the DSL) and a phone with no features also it helps to get a headset. It's a customer service type deal. No outbound calls and they work for tons of different companies. It IS hard to get in but once you do they work really well with you. They have a multitude of schedules, some are 24hrs/7days week. You get to make up your own schedule. They have Directv, Toysrus, Citicard, etc as clients. I did have a few pay discrepencies mostly during training but they fixed them all. They have good people to work for. I would suggest this as it can work around your schedule and you can change it from week to week.
House cleaning.
Babysitting.
Pet walking.
Tutoring.
Teacher's Aide/Assistant
Again, all of these things, can be arranged by YOUR hours/preferences.
And paid per hour, or a flat monthly rate. Except for the Teachers Aide/assistant.

S.H. offered some great suggestions. There are also a multitude of home party plan businesses if you like sales. Not all of them have strict monthly quotas or expensive start up costs and you can plan the business around your family time. For better income though, I would look into doing something independently, as S.H. mentioned. Another thing to add to the list is running errands. (grocery shopping for home bound folks, etc.) or if you totally want to stay home and have good computer/word processing skills, consider virtual administration services.

Your situation sounds just like mine! My hubby is a retail supervsior and his schedule is all over the place!
