Hi moms! My little guy will be turning 1 next month and we'd like to buy a wagon for his birthday. Can you please either recommend one or let me know which to avoid? I'd like to have one that could carry two kids if we need that in the future. Thanks so much! You're always so helpful!

The only thing I wished we did different is find the one that had the backrests that come up and had seatbelts, that way you can actually walk looking forward when they get to the age when they think that they can stand up and jump out while you are moving!!!

We have a Step 2 wagon and love it! The great thing about the Step 2 products is that they are made in the USA! I would highly recommend these products!

Here's the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website to check for recalls on whichever wagon you are looking to get: http://www.cpsc.gov/ (Type in "WAGON" and you'll get plenty of ones to avoid.)

This looks promising, but I didn't check it for recalls: http://www.step2.com/wagons/index.cfm?ppcyah=wagons&0...

I would just make sure to check out the accessory part cost as well. See how easy and pricey it is to acquire them. We didn't research that part and should have. A canopy or umbrella would have been nice for our Radio Flyer wagon with two seats, two cup holders and a door. The kids loved it and it's easy to steer, too. The storage compartment is nice for my keys and water when we go for long walks or even snacks that they don't want to hold all the time.

We have the Step 2 Cho Cho Wagon and love it. Great for when you have more than one kid. We also have the Radio Flyer one with 2 seats with seatbelts. That one doesn't steer well though and we outgrew it now that we have 3 kids but overall is a good wagon.

my inlaws bought us the Radio Flyer ATW (all terrain wagon) WE LOVE IT! It has thick all terain wheels, side rails that can be removed and fits 2 easily. My kids LOVE this and its not hard to pull or extremely heavy. I lay a quilt down on the bottom so its not so h*** o* little bottoms. Will last us for years!!

We have the radio flyer pathfinder-which has the 2 seatbacks that can be folded down for a flat wagon, cup holders, and seatbelts. I would have preferred better wheels, however I wanted a lapbelt to keep my little climber in!! I now have 2 little climbers almost 3 and 9 months, they love sitting facing one another and usually end up with lots of laughs!! Our wagon and wheels have held up wonderfully.

Good Morning V., I think our son & dil bought a red flyer wagon with the wooden rails on the sides. You can put a blanket in the bottom for comfort and toys etc. We used it at the Zoo for both of our 3 yr old Grandsons ( not twins ) a while back, worked well. He has a baby brother now 7 months old and it will hold both of them pretty well. Get one with solid tires on it. The plastic tires do not last, they crack easily.

Good Luck and have fun this summer

I bought a step 2 wagon that is plastic, has a little door on it and has deep seats. radio flyer makes a similar one that is also plastic and has deep seats. i think either of those is a good choice. i wouldn't buy the metal ones as they tend to rust and also get hotter faster in the heat and are easier to fall out of and the metal handles are uncomfortable to pull with.

I dont remember the brand of the wagon I have but it is red with white lettering. Its plastic and has 2 built in seats where the backs of the seats fold down or up. The wagon has safety belts as well and drink holders! When the seats are folded down its more like a regular, old fashioned wagon, then when the seats are up you can use the safety belts and drink holders. Its a very good wagon and easy to assemble. If I had to take a guess I would say its Radio Flyer brand but Im not sure. Hope this helps!

I would make sure it has safety belts and rubber wheels. The plastic wheels are so loud that it's not even worth getting it out.

We have the Radio Flyer one that seats two and has cupholders. The seat backs can fold down to make a flat wagon where they could lie down in it or you could carry an infant with a blanket in there. It's sturdy plastic and easy to use.

My son got a wagon for his first birthday and he loved it! We have had it almost 6 years now (he'll be 7 this summer) and it is still in great shape. He got a radio flyer one that has rubber wheels. We live on a gravel road so I knew that the plastic wheeled ones wouldn't work and I am so glad we have this one. We have taken it everywhere. It has two seats and a storage compartment under one. There are two drink holders and a door to get in and out of. We wouldn't change a thing about our wagon, although I am sure there are new things out there. So, I guess my biggest suggestion would be to go with one with rubber tires. The plastic ones are harder to move and the rubber ones seem to take just about anything. Good luck! Here is a link with one lke ours. It has changed a little but still looks similar and has the same tires. http://radioflyer.stores.yahoo.net/raflpaplwa.html

We have the Radio Flyer Pathfinder wagon & LOVE it! It seats two w/ seat belts. Has cup holders & the seats fold down so you have storage underneath - fun to hide things there of course. It's $78 at Target. There's a deluxe version of it too with a canopy added on - I think it's about $150.

My 1 yr old received a Radio flyer for Christmas. He as well as my 5 year old daughter love it! It is one with two seats (or you can lay the backs down and it is flat), belts, and overhead canopy. We use this wagon every day and have not had any problems with it. It is easy to steer, room for both kids, protects them from the sun, wind, has a small storage space at he back, and even has cup holders for the kids. We absolutely love it! I got it at Target.

We have one my paretns got us. Make sure it's a radio flyer......they are classic for wagons and trycicles and such. the one we have is preatty big, has big tires....it's the "rugged" one. It has wooded panels that come out...it's great. It's easy to move in the grass. I recommend it highly. I have a friens who has a plastic one.....not as great, they front wheels are not connected to the handle, makes it VERY hard for steering, so stay away from one's like that!

HAve fun once you get one!
