i saw a study that said the regular flintstones chewables had the best absorption rate. Don't do the gummies because of the sticking to the teeth and sugar. Fruit snacks and other things like this are the biggest cause of cavities in little teeth.

Our Pedi says the gummy ones are the best/easist to get your kids to eat and they are all pretty simmilar, just look and see what you like best personally.

No vitamin is better than a bad one. Most vitamins on the market cause free radicals that create disease. I always recommend Koala Pals because they are guaranteed to absorb and they do not create free radicals. If you're interested I can get you some additional information.

God bless,

I don't like the chewy gummy vitamins because they look too much like the fruit snacks, and I don't want my kids thinking the vitamins are fruit snacks. Even though I keep the vitamins out of their reach, I still want to be cautious. I personally think there's too much possibility of overdose with gummy vitamins. I use Shaklee vitamins. However, I gave the kids Ocean Wonders. They were too tart/sour. They took them for awhile but that ended soon. I later tried the Incredivites hoping they would like those. Same thing, too tart/sour. I tasted them, and they taste too sour for me too! I was disappointed in that. I understand the benefits of all natural, but surely there's something they can add that isn't harmful that can help with the taste. I've gone to Animal Parade vitamins. But, I'm still looking also. I'd love for them to get the excellent nutrition of the Shaklee vitamins, but we have to go another route. I am trying to contact Usana to find information on theirs. They do like the Animal Parade and they like getting to choose which animal they chomp up in the morning. Good luck!

You might want to consider googling Consumer Reports. They researched all the vitamins on the market and their results were quite alarming with regards to how vitamins are manufactured, how they are absorbed and the FDA guidelines for vitamin companies to meet. One of the biggest vitamin manufacturers, Centrum, puts way more money into marketing than into the quality of what they produce. So stay away from their brand and tell everyone.

Mimi's got a great recommendation :)

Do your research on the company before you buy. Make sure they are safe and effective. I would recommend ShakleeKids. Shaklee has more peer-reviewed published research than all other supplement companies combined.

I use 2 different ones, and my son likes both equally- but when it comes down to it you really want the one with the hightest absorbancy. (even tho I sometimes want my 2 year old to have less energy) ;-) Koala pals has the best absorbancy rate I have found yet. And I also used Natures Plus Animal Parade- made from whole foods- vitamins as found in nature- but not sure what the absorption rate is on these.

I agree that a chewable vitamin would be better than a gummy one. Unfortunately, we just found out that our (just turned 4 yesterday!) son has his 1st cavity - and it's because we give him Welsh's gummy snacks. We thought this was a safe treat - low sugar, "fruity", and not chocolate or junk food. We're pretty uptight about only fruits/veggies and this was our son's one treat. However, the small cavity was found in a molar recess that is hard to get to, even with brushing morning and night!

We use an organic chewable multi-vitamin from Whole Foods. Brand is Yummi Bear Organics. My 2 year old daughter loves them...

If you are not near a whole foods they do sell a gummy multi-vitamin almost identical to it at Target.

We use gummy vitamins by a company called "Nordic Naturals". I also use their Omega 3 gummies.

There is another liquid vitamin that you can order through www.nourishmd.com called Kid Vibe.

Nourishmd is a website run by a pediatrician and a dietician. They highly recommend the Kid Vibe liquid vitamin. We've tried it... the only reason I didn't continue was because I kept forgetting to reorder!

I would stay away from the gummy ones personally because they stick in their teeth more, and unless you plan on flossing your kids teeth every day (which was difficult for us... our daughters teeth are really close/tight), you may really pay for it later... we have learned this lesson a little to late unfortunately.... but we made the switch to a chewable vitamin (I think we get them from Trader Joe's) and although she loved her gummy ones, she loves these just as much.

I second the opinion on Shaklee vitamins. Shaklee vitamins have been so great for my toddler. They are more complete and natural then anything else on the market that I know of and lots of science backing up their products. I am a Shaklee distributor and would be happy to recommend something for your child. My first thought would be the chewable incredivites. For kids ages 2-3 who can chew well, they can take 1 per day. Here is a link for those: http://waterways.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku=20002

Incredivites includes lactopherin, which helps with immune function. It is found in breastmilk and to my knowledge, this is the only product that has that.

If you would rather not have a chewable, Shaklee makes a very good powder vitamin for babies and toddlers. It is their multi vitamin and mineral powder. Also very complete and natural and you can add it to oatmeal, drinks, yogurt, etc.

My toddler has never had an ear infection and rarely gets sick. Shaklee vitamins and supplements has and can help with many childhood illnesses. Feel free to contact me to talk more about it if you would like.

I hope this is helpful:)
