Does anyone have any suggestions on good vitamins for a 2yr old, sometimes I don't think she's getting all she needs with food...she is starting to be a picky eater.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for all the info,,,I saw the doctor for my dtrs two yr visit and agreed I should stick with a company that's been doing this for a while and has a good track record...so I went with flinstones and now they make them for two year olds...cool. So I started her on them and her appetite has improved (she was begining to be a picky eater).I give them to her every other day.

My daughter also became picky with her eating around 2. Her pediatrician told me to start her on the Flinstones gummy vits, 2 a day. I did it, and she gained 3 pounds in the first month of taking them, and it seemed to help her appetite.

FAQs

What are the vitamins and minerals children most commonly don't get enough of?
Iron the most common nutritional deficiency among toddlers, and it's common among older children, too.
Calcium needed to form growing bones. Proper calcium intake from childhood on can help maintain normal bone mass later in life.
Zinc an essential nutrient for proper growth and development.
Vitamin A (also available as beta carotene). C and E One survey found that two-thirds of U.S. children didn't get the Daily Value for vitamin E.
If my kids eat well and seem healthy, how important is it to give them a multivitamin/multimineral supplement?
A "multi" supplement like NUTRILITE Kids is extra insurance of the best nutrition, and it's a great habit for kids to carry on into adulthood. Besides, while it's certainly possible to meet all nutritional requirements by eating food alone, few people of any age in the real world achieve optimal nutrition through diet alone.

Is it possible for children to get too much of certain vitamins and minerals?
Yes. Excessive intake of retinol-derived vitamin A or iron can lead to a toxic buildup of these nutrients. But the amounts of these nutrients included in the suggested daily serving of NUTRILITE Kids Chewable Multi, added to a normal diet, are well within safe limits. (Vitamin A (retinol) toxicity begins with prolonged intake of 50,000 IU per day or more.)

Use Instructions

For children 4 years of age and older and adults: chew 2 tablets each day, with a meal. For children under 4 years of age: chew one tablet a day, with a meal.

SINCE THEY MIGHT BE DIFFICULT TO GET HER TO TAKE, I WOULD TRY THE GUMMY ONES (LOOK LIKE GUMMY BEARS, SUPPOSED TO TASTE GOOD), BUT TALK WITH HER PEDIATRICIAN FIRST. ALSO, KEEP THEM OUT OF HER REACH, WITH SOME VITAMINS (IRON A BIGGIE) TOO MUCH IS WORSE THAN TOO LITTLE! GOOD LUCK!

Enfamil's Poly vi sol or Tri vi sol. My daughter takes Poly vi sol and Fergen sol. You can buy it over the counter and pediatricians highly recommend it.

My kids love the new gummi vitamins. If she cannot handle the gummies you could try the soft chews. Giving them a multivitamin never hurts. Or you could just coat everything in honey like I did with my son. We called it magic sauce... he would eat almost anything as long as it had honey on it. Good Luck!

Hi A., my husband, myself and our 1-1/2 yr. old all take Juice Plus gummies. I get them through a friend of mine: http://www.juiceplus.com/+rs93228. They give you all of your fruits and veggies in little gummy form. We still try to eat them as well but we never get in as many servings as we should have. I debated for a long time but Dr. Sears is a huge supporter of taking them www.askdrsears.com. He has noticed a huge improvement in the health of his patients since recommending them. Also, our son loves them! He gets all excited when it's time to eat them.

I suggest Juice Plus. We've been using it for a few years now and *LOVE* it! It is concentrated fruits and vegetables - you actually get the nutrition available in those foods...vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients in their *natural* form. Synthetic multi-vitamins (like Flintstones, Poly-vi-Sol, etc.) are fractions of the real nutrients and are really a waste of money. Juice Plus comes in Gummies and Chewables for kids, capsules for adults.

HTH! :-)
