I was giving my son the gummy ones from whole foods and this week his dentist told me they are horrible for them. Apparently they are the biggest causes of cavities she sees (gummy vits). Now I am looking for new ones too.
Hi does anyone know of a good vitamin for little ones? I have a 3 year old who i currently still give the poly drops that the doctor prescribed when he was a baby. Would love to find a vitamin that's all natural & tastes good. Thanks

Hi M. -
I give my son Floradix, which is a liquid vitamin. He loves the flavor and will take it every time, savoring every last drop. I just get the regular kind at Whole Foods and give him half the adult dosage. It's great for adults too. Very healthy!
Good luck to you, L.
i would try the flinstones or gummie vites they are very good and dont taste bad. also you can ask his pedi what he suggests. i also give my 18 month old the poly vi sol drops in her morning milk (and have since birth) and when she turns 2 we will start to transition her to the chewable vitamines. im sure you can look it up online what vitamine is best for kids. you may even fnd one thats good for your older son :). my friends 2 kids are adhd and they take omega 3 vitamines and it helps them (opposed to the medication route). good luck!
gummy-vites from Costco (probably available elsewhere too). My 2 year old often asks for more, b/c they're just like gummy bears (so keep out of reach!)
Omega-3/DHA vitamins are really important. For adults or children. It is good for brain development, neurological development and a myriad of other things. Many know it as "fish oil" ... or flaxseed oil pills. It's very good for the health and for elderly too.
they have many kid versions. Just go to your natural health food store and you will find many. They can also give you samples to try, so you know which one your child likes.
My kids like the "Barlean's Omega Burst Chews."
And the veggie or fruit based "gummie" type vitamins are always great... again, I buy mine from Amazon.com or my local health food store. Many different price points.
Good luck,
Susan
We've used Trader Joe's children's chewable vitamins for years and my kids love the taste. it has no yeast or starch, no artificial flavors or preservatives. 100 vitamins for $2.99!
I also give my two boys Usana vitamins. Here is the http://www.5starvitamins.com/usanimals.htm
These were recommended to me by a homeopath and my boys like eating them. Stay away from the flinstone vitamins bc they have high fructose corn syrup. Double check the lables of your vitamins if you don't end up getting the usana vitamins bc you'd be surprised how may vitams contain high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils.

My son takes Usana vitamins.

They are called Usanimals and they are a pharmaceutical grade vitamin. You can order them via their website, a rep or sometimes get a better deal on eBay.
I take their essentials, etc...pregnant, non-pregnant, nursing...my babies get all aspects of this vitamin!
They're phenominal!
Juice Plus! I have tried every viatiam on the market. These are the best, i am not a distributor, just a big fan. My kids have been on them since January. I have seen a big difference. Go to thier website, Juiceplus.com
if your interested i will give you the phone number of the woman i order from, she is also a mamasourse mom!
Juice Plus is great. I haven't used in a long time but when I did, both kids loved it. Right now I buy different multivitamins nearly each time I'm at Henrys. I've tried Nordic Naturals and Dr Sears, the kids liked the Nordic Naturals better.
Hi M.,
I give me 2 yr. old & 4 yr. old Vitamins from Melaleuca~The Wellness Company. They are pioneer's in making vitamins that are actually soluble and absorbable for the whole family including prenatal needs w/omega-3's. I also take their Heart Healthy pack. They do not have any added colors and are sweetened naturally with cherry juice. My kids like them and they are not very expensive.
They are in the process of reformulating their children's line of vitamins, so it may be a week or two before they are back on sale. They are available with or without iron too. A lot of their stuff is Kosher too.
Be aware of kids vitamins or OTC med's that contain aspartame or artificial sweetners. Many of the commercial brands do.
Here is a link about aspartame. It is also in diet foods and diet soft drinks.

Hope this helps!
Best to you and your family.
