Virgin Mobile Cell Phone?

Trying to find out if Virgin Mobile is a decent company. My husband and I have been in the dark ages for years. We've only had talk and text. No date plan ever. We only pay $53 a month(total per month for both of us) so it has been hard for me to want to switch to a plan that will, at the very least, TRIPLE my bill! I have been w/Sprint for 10 yrs. and my phone screen is cracked and I can't read my text message properly. My contract is up in August, so Im shopping around trying to find somethign affordable. But seriously everything I look at is going to cost a minimum of $150/mo for my husband and I. So I googled plans the other day and stumbled across Virgin Mobile. For $35 a month u can get 1200 mins, unlimited texts and 2.5 GB of Data. 2 Questions..1) is that enough data(I have no clue since I have never had a data plan before0 2) How is Virgin Mobile service? They say they use Sprints network. I have no problems w/Sprint talk./text but again never used data before. They have no contracts w/Virigin Mobile, but u do have to purchase the phones at $100-$250 each depending on what you get. Would love to hear from someone who has Virgin Mobile. Are you satisfied???

I have been using a Virgin Smartphone (LG Optimus) for about 6 months & I love it! FYI, the plan you are referring to is actually 45 a month. There is one with less minutes, which is the 35 a month plan. I use a fair amount of data & have never had any issues with using it all up. The phone & service are great & customer service is really helpful. I would highly recommend it if you want an up to date phone without the commitment of a contract. Oh, I got my phone during a sale & it was around 60 bucks, about 1/2 off. You might want to see if they're having a Memorial Day sale right now.

I got a Virgin Mobile phone not long ago. I really like it but as far as the data, I'm probably not one to ask because I don't use it a lot. Every once in a while I do play words with friends on it while waiting for my daughter.

I don't have a smart phone, so no experience on the data. But I have had a classic virgin mobile pre-paid for more than 5 years and I am MORE than happy with it. I have it on automatic pay, so every time my balance dips below $5 they automatically charge my card to replenish my account. I pay about $15 every other month.
To be honest I do not use my cell much, it is only for emergencies and the occasional call or text with DH. As far as network/reception I have never had an issue in our area.

Just wanted to give you another option. We recently switched over to consumer cellular. It's nice because you can adjust your plan during the month depending on your usage. We don't really text and use the data plan though, but they have add on plans for that too. And you can add other users for $10.00 a month. Sounds like you have a good deal now, another option is to stay with your plan and just buy a used phone so you don't have to sign another contract. Good luck!

We've been with Virgin for years. The service is great, no contract, and it's $84/mo for me and dh to have the unlimited plan. We both have a Rumor Touch. We also have a 400min/mo, no data, texting extra $20/mo flip phone for the kids to use when they leave the house.
Keep an eye out on Craigslist for used Virgin phones, we both got our Rumors when they were $150 retail and got each one gently used for under $100 that way.

Love it ! My husband, son, and I all have it. My son is on the 300 minute plan since all he does it text - very little talking. My hubby and I are both on the all unlimited plans. We all have the LG Optimus (son has the slider version). None of us have any issues with our phones, get good service just about everywhere. And my hubby is all over the metroplex for work. The data is fine for us and I use it quite a bit. No issues with slow downs so far. The Optimus are good phones. The Wildfire - haven't read very many good reviews for this phone at all (not enough internal memory). Virgin does have a new phone coming out or maybe just came out that looks good. I'm going to take another look and see if I can convince hubby to get it for me :) It's a little larger screen and updated operating system. Anyway - I really like
Virgin and would completely recommend it.
