Vet and Booties

I am looking for a vet referral in Schaumburg and I am concerned about the salt (or whatever it is they put on the roads to melt the ice) on my dogs paws, so I wondering if anyone knew the best place to get booties. They are approx 40-50lbs so they need to be good size ones.

What can I do next?

hi, as you know , i own a pet sitting firm. many of my clients use bloomingale animal hospital and love them. even if they move to another suburb, most still go back to them. i have heard alot of good things about golf rose as well, plus they have 24/7 emergency care. as for the paws, any dog i have walked has hated them, but eventualy get used to it. just make sure you wipe them as soon as they come in from the walk. you may have to stay away from a walk on the day they are salting until it settles in. it is tough out there for them and me!!!!

I take my full bread Pug to Animal Hospital of Streamwood. It is right before Nana's on Irving Park Road West of Barrington Road. I Love them!! Do not go to Wise Way on wise road, may be Schaumburg or Roselle address. I and a friend had a bad experienc there.

Try the foster & smith website. That was where we always got booties for our 45 lb. dog.

It kept her from licking her feet to get the salt out which caused foot problems and made her stomach upset. Of course, the dogs are really funny in boots until they get used to them.

Our family loves Dr. Decraene at Wise Rd. Animal Hospital. We have been going to him for many years and he is very compassionate and knowledgable.

You can get booties at PetsMart. I used to work for Dr. DeCrane and he is very compassionate. But the best vet I have ever known is Dr. Roberta Skipor at Golf Rose Animal Hospital. She is awesome. Very down to earth and so nice. She is awesome. The number is ###-###-####. Good luck.

My mom lives in Schaumburg and uses knollwood vet. right on schaumburg road. She loves the vet there. I believe her name is dr. mitchell. As far as boots, I just bought some on e-bay, they are nice (do the job) but my dogs wont walk in them. They are xtra large. I have 2 packs--unopened if you want them(for free) feel free to contact me. ____@____.com

I use Knollwood Hospital for pets too. I love it there. I consulted with them before I brought home my 2 Italian greyhounds. Dr. Mitchell is aware of the weirdness of the IG's and she takes special attention to my monsters. Sighthounds are known to be sensitive to anesthesia and she is known for her holitic pet care too. ###-###-####

As for the feet on winter salt. I use paw wax.http://eightinonepet.com/products.php?searchkey=paw+wax&a...=
I bought it at Petsmart on Barrington Road.
