Hi Moms,
Do you all know of any fun places to hold a birthday party for a 6 year old boy? What places have you had good or bad experiences with? Thanks!

Here are some of the types of parties we've been to in the last year (5-6 year olds):

Childrens' museum
Gymnastics
Gym/sports
Bowling alley
Puppet theater
Park
Movie theater
Aquarium

Last year I held my son's 5th birthday at his Pre-K on the weekend - they rented a great room and provided a bounce house plus a helper for the party. It went well but was a LOT of kids and a LOT of work.

This year I decided to save a few $$ and just held the party at our house a few days ago. We had 10 show out of 17. My house is pretty small, but it all worked out because 1. the weather was nice enough to have an obstacle course and a treasure hunt outside and 2. it was a Lego party so when they were inside they were all absorbed with building Legos. It all worked out much better than anticipated, though I think I have a few more gray hairs now!

Best of luck!

My son had a bowling party for his 5th birthday that was a lot of fun and super easy. That would be my top recommendation.

Six year olds = lots of energy! I would go with a gymnastics place, an indoor bounce house place. These are places where they can run run run! Plus no set up or clean up for you! I am not from your area but you can look up gymnastic clubs and inquire about their party prices.

Gymnastics place - my son had such a fun bday at one of these. Besides trampolines they got to use the zip lines and jump into a giant foam pit from a rope swing!
Ice skating party - another great birthday my son had (this was age 5)
Swimming pool
Bowling Alley. Invite the parents too. Order pizza and have adult and kid lanes. They will put up the bumpers in the kid lanes so it is easier for them
