Any moms have a vbac after 2 c-sections? Just curious of experiences. I have had two c-sections and having #3 scheduled. My 1st was an emergency after being in labor for over 20 hours and my 2nd was scheduled because the doctor thought I would have another big baby which he wasnt. With # 3 on the way my dr has my c-section scheduled but said if i do go into labor before the surgery date he might let me try naturally.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for the comments on your own experiences, except for Amelia's comment. No one needs to be making remarks on someones doctor when they do not even know them! My doctor has decided to let me try naturally as long as i do not run into any problems. Now I am just waiting for baby to arrive.

Hi. I have had 3 c sections just like u. First was scheduled for natural but he ended up being to big so after 22 hours of labor they decided on a c section. and after that my doc told me it would be safest to continue with c section with my future children. Because of the scar tissue. So two more c sections it was. So I recommend having another c section. The recovery sucks but if we did it once we can sure do it again. LOL. Hope this helps.

It is a huge risk. Your uterus could tear. Everything in your stomach has been through so much with two surgeries already. HOWEVER, I am still all for Vbac's. I had 3 c-sections and would have loved to of had the experience of a natural birth. There are so many things that could go wrong, but then again who is to say they will, ya know? So that is totally up to you and your doctor. He knows what we can handle. Congrats!

I'm very curious to see your answers because I'm on the same boat; I had a C section on 2009 because of placenta previa, now I'm planing my third child for next year to give my body time to heal but I would really like to try vbac. My ob (which I love and trust) does not allow vbacs in her practice so I'm torn because I would have to change doctors. but I digress, anyways it's great that yours is letting you try,
hope you get good advice,
Good luck!

My OB isn't opposed to VBACs, she just won't do them because the hospitals she delivers at aren't set up well in case things do go wrong. When she was doing her residency, that hospital did have a good floorplan so she did them all the time. She was very cool about it and told me she'd be happy to recommend some docs who do them at hospitals that are better suited for it. I am with Carol G. though - I LOVE my OB, so I don't want to change drs, but I really want to try to do a VBAC with my third (if we have one), so I may. Good luck!

If you can (and if your doctor will let you), I'd highly recommend it. I was dead-set against having another c-section with Baby #2, so I took good care of myself and had a vaginal birth with a normal sized baby - even with gestational diabetes. And let me tell you there is simply no comparison between the two birth experiences - the VBAC was AMAZING and much easier than I expected with only 20 minutes of pushing! I was up and around with an hour or two, never needed any pain meds, could easy pick up and nurse my baby afterwards and felt really good in general. I think doctors try to scare or bully women into having repeat c-sections by bringing out words like "uterine rupture" - so I would encourage you to read the statistics and do your homework. I was comfortable in my decision and I knew my body could deliver a baby vaginally if everyone would just give me the chance to prove it. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Someone else just posted a similar question. Google ICAN -I saw that in another response and I couldn't remember it before -it's a VBAC association that can put you in touch with doctors and midwives who are VBAC friendly. I have friends who have had GREAT success with VBACS. The thinking that once you have a c-section you must keep having them is FLAWED!

I am on my third child as well with 2 previous C sections. My ob practice won't even let me try for a Vbac this time around. They said having had 2 already I am not allowed to try vbac.
Kuddos for you being able to try if you want to. I am mixed about it anyway. My sections were a breeze and I am not sure I want to go thru labor again...I did with my first but failed to progress. My doc actually said my pelvis is too small to ever have a baby go thru it.
Good luck to you!
