Has any one had a VBAC in Tidewater. If so , who was your practitioner? I am thankful for all the responses I am getting. I like every one to know, this is for the women I serve. Thanks for your encouragement and support.
Please keep all the wonderful information and resources coming. This can help so many.

What can I do next?

You can contact ICAN for recs. Personally I would go with a midwife or birthcenter rather than a hospital. Your chances for a VBAC are most successful if you have no intervention (such as induction) and no anesthesia.
Don't let people scare you into a repeat C-section if you don't want one. Uterine rupture is an extremely rare complication, number vary, but generally the risk is given as less than 1% in women with a previous c/s and a low transverse scar.
Get informed, make an informed decision and stand up for your rights as a woman, mother, patient.
Good luck!

I know you're asking for a practitioner, and I don't want to sound critical if a VBAC is your choice, I just ask that you consider it very carefully. My best friend insisted on having a VBAC and literally almost died from a ruptured uterus. Because she was already at the hospital surrounded by skilled doctors, she and the baby both ended up being fine (after emergency surgery) but she can't have any more children. However, I also understand the desire to have your baby vaginally so I wish you the absolute best in whatever you end up doing. Congratulations on your new miracle!

Greenbrier OB/GYN located on Volvo pkwy is where I attend and they do offer the VBAC option. I went there so I would have the option of one and they were great! They informed me of everything related to it & answered all of my questions. I highly recommend them, Angela Ferebee was my MD & she was awesome! Good Luck & God Bless!

I'm in Colorado, so I can't give you any specific recommendations. However, one idea would be to visit http://www.birthcenters.org/ and look up birth centers in your area...usually birth centers can give good recommendations for low-intervention OBs as well as OBs who will do VBACs, so you could always contact them and see if they can direct you to someone specific in your area.

I'm sure that you have already done or are in the process of doing your VBAC research, and are probably aware of the high success rate of VBACs in women who have been deemed good candidates for them. I hope you find a doctor in the area who will help you determine whether VBAC is right for you and help you to achieve the labor and delivery that you hope for!

I have not had one but my OB/GYN does them. Her name is Tracy Wright and she's at Complete Women's Care on First Colonial Rd. in VA Beach.
